DT, can you give us some pics of what the loaded mag looks like? Are the lips making full contact with the round towards the rear? ThanksFor anyone interested, my two new AX mags feed 6gt perfectly with the rounds seated all the way to the rear.
In other actions that I’ve used AW (not AX) mags, I’ve always had to have the rounds pushed forward similar to dasher rounds with a spacer.

What do you use to carry it around when you get to your destination? Or do you take it apart at the end of each day? This is how small it packs.
This is a pelican 1615 Air.

Who did you go with for insurance with that policy?Just a rifle cover so I don’t get any weird looks leaving hotel.
I have specific firearm insurance that requires proof of forced entry. So my rifle stays in vehicle for most of the trip.
If someone steals it from hotel room, it likely won’t be forced entry and will have issues with the insurance. So, it stays out of sight in vehicle. If someone wants to steal the vehicle, or break in, I get brand new stuff.
Rifle gets assembled prior to range/dope day. And disassembled the last day.

Have you repeated this and checked if there is consistent zero shift?Just a rifle cover so I don’t get any weird looks leaving hotel.

So do I, but I still check and verify zero shift from removal and replacement of the same barrel. Just in case I can't.No as I don’t care or need that.
I zero and dope all my rifles before I use them in a match. Regardless if they were taken down or not.

I assume if travel of something kept you from zero'ing and doping before a match after reassembly it would be good to know the consistent offset, if it was consistent so you could still shoot the match.
For those of us with a small stockpile does this look like something that could be fixable at the user level by adjusting mag lips etc ?Just an update folks:
I received my replacement AX mag today. AT-X functions like buttah. Better than with the AW mags (not as raspy of stuttering).
I'm pretty stoked with the way it functions now, and wanted to let everyone that had a similar mag situation (rounds not sitting correctly in the mag per Scott's picture), that it indeed appears to have solved. Got another mag coming in from MHS on Tuesday, and will confirm that that one functions as well.
I think it’s a “send it back” if it’s a problem sort of thing. If yours already work, I’d doubt you’ll have a problem. For those of us with a small stockpile does this look like something that could be fixable at the user level by adjusting mag lips etc ?

I appreciate this more than you know. We have limited time to devote to forums and have to be efficient with that time. Our main objective in participating is to help customers, so asking for clarification to vague posts isn't snark. I can't help if I don't understand the problem.People without a AI or AI order taking the piss with AI while having never personally delt with them isn't helpful. It's not surprising Scott is asking people to clarify an issue in cases where it's unclear if there is actually an issue.
Having a dealer where two staff are actively participating in the conversation is a massive benefit, it is in fact the reason I signed up to this forum.
Obviously there have been some delays and issues. Having Tom and Scott checking in and giving the occaisional update is helpful. The responses regarding magazine issues and the reassurance that these issues will be rectified is reassuring.
While I'm personally frustrated over the time frames involved (Still waiting on 1st order elite sand rifles to make their way into Australia) it's been very helpful to read how people have been fairing with their rifles and their modifications.
Hinge kits will start shipping from AINA to the distributors next week.Weird question someone here might be able to answer now that hinges are dropping.
Scott, it seems that more Elite Sand rifles are shipping. Are DE rifles coming soon as well?Hinge kits will start shipping from AINA to the distributors next week.

No. This is due to lot variation that has been corrected in production. So I wonder if there is a new style and old style AX mag? I got a new one a month ago and the rounds tip in it like the one that came in my ATx from the factory, or is there just enough variation in them that you buy a half dozen and the ones that don’t function you send back??
A mix of all colors is shipping this month.Scott, it seems that more Elite Sand rifles are shipping. Are DE rifles coming soon as well?
No. Post #2991 had a good photo of both the 0726 (AW/AT) and the 6677 (AX/AT-X) mags. The only difference in the 6677 is the front location lug visible in the photo. Is the AT magazine the same as the ATX?
Wonderful, thanks for the update!A mix of all colors is shipping this month.

Don't bend the feed lips. That isn't the problem. The mag body needs to be adjusted wider at the top in line with the retention ribs. This takes some care to do it correctly but is not not beyond what a mechanically inclined owner could do.For those of us with a small stockpile does this look like something that could be fixable at the user level by adjusting mag lips etc ?

Okie, thanks. I have an AT now, thinking of going to the AX but can't see the cost/performance and thought the ATX would be a comprimise provided the folder is an option. I am debating the AX rear end upgrade on the AT though. I wish the AT/LE was available when I got the AT from MH.No. Post #2991 had a good photo of both the 0726 (AW/AT) and the 6677 (AX/AT-X) mags. Funny history, I started with a rem 700 in an AI chassis, Stacey Blankenship stopped at the Pct on his way to NAS Norf to install it. Slowly traded to the entire AE series and into the AT.

My pleasure. I will add that the customers that I correspond with via PM, email, and telephone have been extremely gracious and great to deal with.Thank you for the responsiveness and activity in these threads. !
OK, this was my ovservation but only did it twice. I was playing going back and forth between calibers. My on off with my 6.5x47 is a consistent .1 high and .2 left.
I was wondering the same thing. If your on and off with the same barrel was consistently offset like this, you would eventually run out of adjustment and something seriously mechanically wrong had taken place.OK, this was my ovservation but only did it twice. So my brain questions, if you remove and replace the same barrel and it's always 0.1 and 0.2, wouldn't you eventually run out of travel up and left?![]()
Yes that’s what I meant. My bad, that’s going from my 308 to the 6.5x47I was wondering the same thing. If your on and off with the same barrel was consistently offset like this, you would eventually run out of adjustment and something seriously mechanically wrong had taken place.
Maybe he meant to say this was the offset between two barrels and just worded it funny.
At the risk of sounding like a bit of a mouth breather, I'll inquire about this further. I promise that my reading comprehension is at least considered adequate in most places and I can recognize what's happening in those pictures.No. I am not providing a MIN/MAX dimension because of the difficulty of taking a reliable measurement.
This is real simple.

I can‘t comment on the AINA issues as I don’t have first hand knowledge. But I can confirm a number of UK rifles have been returned to AI to fix feed issues that are not magazine related. Suggest you talk to your RFD who can arrange the fix under warranty. At the risk of sounding like a bit of a mouth breather, I'll inquire about this further. Hypothetically, if my loaded mags look like the ones labelled "OK" and I'm still experiencing feeding issues in the neighborhood of ~50%, what can be done then? I can't send mags to AINA for tuning/repair (ITAR and all that BS) and I would really prefer to not order a stack of mags in hopes that two or three will work as they should.
Is the fix to try and open up the mag a bit at the retention ribs and hope for the best? To be clear, I have no problem trying that out, but if there's a preferred method to this before I go in and hamfist the mag apart, I'm all ears.
Please don't consider this as another post knocking the rifle, it isn't meant to be. Love this thing, just need it to feed correctly.
EDIT: This is not a AINA rifle, it's a UK built rifle, if that makes any difference.
Not any longer, I do like the right side folding option on the AXWill you be using rifle on barricades and bags?
If not, IMO, the bone stock AT with folder is the best practical/tactical field on the planet.

The AT-X will ship with a 4 groove cut rifle barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor manufactured by AI in Portsmouth, UK.
Barrels supplied in the US are finished at WIN Tactical from contoured blanks supplied by Bartlein. We have been using Bartlein blanks for about 10 years in the U.S. and will continue to do so.
The interior diameter of the forend bridges is 1.300". The bridge will clear a 1.250" diameter barrel. As Jorge has noted, running a no taper 1.250" barrel may not be the best approach and we did not intend to design the rifle to such extremes. The channel weights, when installed, will also clear a 1.250" barrel. The AI barrel is 1.220" at the breach end and .950 at the muzzle. The weight of the finished 6.5 CM barrel at 24" is 5.8 lbs. So, it's very close to the "M24/M40" profile in finished weight.

I think 1.250" might be too big and not allow enough clearance for barrel whip/vibration if the fore end is 1.3" wide. I think it would be o.k. but might be on the tight side.@Frank Green
Frank, how much clearance would you recommend?
I have a BB 1.25” blank. Gonna toss it in the lathe and just turn it to a smaller straight.
1.20, 1.15 or something smaller?
I have the following items for sale for the ATX, all items are brand new in the box and have never been
