Any chassis is a lefty chassis if you have a dremel and some adult beverages….Lefty chassis…?.?.
Um 6 and 6.5 Creedmoor aka the best cartridges for everything.Forgive the newbish question here but what other calibers can you run on the AT-X looking into a Proof Carbon barrel for hunting to save a bit of weight and wondering what options are on the table. My understanding is anything within the 308 family of calibers but is that it? Are any of the PRC chamberings possible or is it just the ones below from the "308 family" ?
- 243 Win
- 260 Rem
- 7mm-08 Rem
- 308 Win
- 338 Federal
- 358 Win
I thought your dick would fall off if you shot 6.5 Creed? Not true?
You can't shoot any PRC cartridges on the factory bolt due to the larger rim.Forgive the newbish question here but what other calibers can you run on the AT-X looking into a Proof Carbon barrel for hunting to save a bit of weight and wondering what options are on the table. I think you'll be okay? There's a gap between the long bridge and the action. This is the atx aics chassis with bridge and folder, Archimedes and HH heavy comp 6gt barrel.Admittedly looking at the extended rail of my tempest I'm worried about the full length forend fitting under that gap. Think I might have to switch rails.

I've got a buddy who's gonna sell me an AX mag so I'll give it a shot. I'm running 6.5x47 so should be fine. Is the mag latch adjustable?I’ve had better luck with AX mag. It has that hook on front that seems to hold the mag up and tighter. I did have to slightly open mag lips up a bit to get the rounds up high enough.
BTW if you run a HRD mag spacer for the BR family you have to slightly modify the rear spacer piece so it doesn’t interfere with the mag stop on the atx chassis.
Ive fiddled around with both my atx chassis and I do not believe they're adjustable, at least I haven't figured it out yet.I've got a buddy who's gonna sell me an AX mag so I'll give it a shot. I'm running 6.5x47 so should be fine. Is the mag latch adjustable?
I had plenty issues with feeding before i opened up the mags. since then, AX & AW mags have run floorless with both 6BR and 6.5CM. Amazing that one 2 min job has resulted in zero feeding issues. CheersBack at it again.
Question though I’m having some feeding issues with my AW mag. Which I’ve ran an AW with my tempest since the guns inception. Is there a way to adjust the mag release or do i need to get an atx mag?

A friend of mine got the info from Scott S. Mines Gen1, open up in middle near rib, to match measurement at base (usually 1.5-2mm needed), Done. HRD kits run floorless, AX/AW etc. Been discussed few times on here. Cheers.I’ll have to try that.
I’ve got 5 mags and every single one will fail to feed. It went from a mild annoyance to wtf.
I didn’t really want to “tune” my mags for a 4K rifle. But with 6cm, 6.5cm and sometimes even 308 the bolt slides right over. I pulled the springs to add more tension and that did nothing.
Someone was talking at the range, I didn’t catch it all but they said in the Gen 2, accessing the trigger housing was made easier? Also the Gen 2s fixed the feeding problems?
Is there a reference to the updates from gen 1-3? Not that it benefits me as a poor ol gen 1 guy.
We don't speak about AT-X magazine issues here, it might summon @Scott SeigmundBack at it again.

So I’ve never had feeding issues with the aw for 6 years now with the tempest which is why i think it’s a latch issue. But I’ll see if the AX mag fixes it.I had plenty issues with feeding before i opened up the mags. since then, AX & AW mags have run floorless with both 6BR and 6.5CM. Well this is the chassis which was designed for 700s so the latch is probably set for AICS mags, thinking about it.We don't speak about AT-X magazine issues here, it might summon @Scott Seigmund
It is called the atx aics chassis, I'm not surprised AW/AX mags are troublesome. I know my ARC aics mags run great with the 3 lug ARC actions, as well with my zermatt actions in br, gt and creed cases, zero mag tuning required.Well this is the chassis which was designed for 700s so the latch is probably set for AICS mags, thinking about it.
Yeah so it will likely need adjusting. The tempest was pretty much designed for the AW though. One of the perks of 3-lugs is running a double stack double feed AW. Wonder if i can remove it and have it filed down I’m sure i can. I had to do that for all my manners for the AW mag.It is called the atx aics chassis, I'm not surprised AW/AX mags are troublesome. Do you think the mags riding too high? Too low? The AX mag will fit with nose higher as the front lip will help that. If your bolt is riding over rounds, you need more case head presentation which requires a taller mag latch or modding feed lips to gwt rounds up higher. DSDF mags can be tricky.Yeah so it will likely need adjusting. The tempest was pretty much designed for the AW though. One of the perks of 3-lugs is running a double stack double feed AW. Bolt is riding over. Which i can see the case head isn’t being picked up by the bolt. With a full mag it only happens on one round. So maybe it’s going to require some feed lip adjusting. I’m gonna see how the ax works out if that resolves I’ll sell the AW.Do you think the mags riding too high? Too low? The AX mag will fit with nose higher as the front lip will help that. That’s my issue as well. Happened with my AX mags including the one it came with.Bolt is riding over. Which i can see the case head isn’t being picked up by the bolt. That's odd. I have a gen1 atx, and its never had an issue with a pair of ax or an aw mag in 65 creed. That’s my issue as well. Happened with my AX mags including the one it came with.
Yeah I’m blessed with all the good luck lolThat's odd. I have a gen1 atx, and its never had an issue with a pair of ax or an aw mag in 65 creed.
Found out the issue today. There is what looks like a guide plan for the aics mag that hits the rim of the case when it’s on the left if i slide it forward it pops up just fine. So it’s not really the feed lips or the latch. That’s my issue as well. Happened with my AX mags including the one it came with.
I’d imagine other calibers will be released. Eventually. It’s AII haven't read all the pages of this thread so my apologies if this is a repeat question....
But who is the genius that thought of selling the AT-X ONLY in 6.5 Creedmoor? The vast majority of shooters in PRS shoot a 6mm bullet and there's no factory 6mm options? So one must pay $5200 ish for a rifle then drop almost a Grand on a barrel if they don't want to shoot a 6.5 Cr?
Who makes the shelf?Hadn’t checked in for a long while. Still shocked this thread got big and I haven’t come even close to reading them all. Need to take some actual glamor shots of the rifle but it’s got some new parts since I got it and just got my hinge last week. Been through (2) 6Creed barrels, almost done with a .308 Win barrel and halfway through my Proof Carbon 6 Creed barrel and she’s a well oiled, butter smooth machine. Biggest problem is keeping barrels lolView attachment 8032957
Had a buddy that’s pretty gangster with a 3D printer whip them up. He’s trying to get a solid template/prototype then I’m trying to convince him to sell them. This one is graphite, doesn’t weigh anything and stupid strong but really makes a difference on a bagWho makes the shelf?
Nice looking rifle. I'll take a set or two of those baker wing clones! I just added the dependabilt lite weights to add some width to the forend, believe it added a pound but its perfectly centered weight so not a big deal.Had a buddy that’s pretty gangster with a 3D printer whip them up. Hell I’ll print it myself, I’ll pay for just the model.Had a buddy that’s pretty gangster with a 3D printer whip them up.
