Accuracy International Picture Thread

I’ll have to post pics, I know….

I am now the owner of my first AI; a 2014 AT folder I got from MH in 308 that came with a case, 260 Bartlein barrel, and Harris bipod.

The few times I’ve handled it since getting it from the shop today…as I said to my wife “I should have bought one of these a long time ago”.

Will post pics when I can.

I said the same thing when i bought my AXSR a few months ago. I always ran AI chassis w Surgeon actions. Waiting on my 2 other barrels to come from the smith in the next few weeks.

I said the same. Bought many other rifles not wanting to justify the $$ for AI. Once I handled the AI I wished I’d bought one long ago. Would have saved $ in the long run.

We must be related lol. We’ve talked a few times about this, and I finally sold and saved enough to eat the cost of this and it was a very, very wise decision.

Now I’m gonna be a poor and use my Bushnell DMR3 with it until I can step up to a S&B or ZCO.

I run the 338 Ultra on everything from 264 and up. Nothing compares. It’s stupid. I run the Dominus on everything 243 and down. Same concept, just shorter. Gas guns back pressure makes a difference. TBAC cans are not optimized for this. I would wager that is the Ultra 9 Gen I in Pew science and not the Gen II. The Magnus is comparable to the Gen I 338 Ultra and the 338 Ultra Gen 2 is in a league of its own.

I ordered a 338 Ultra SR last summer direct from TBAC. It shipped to my dealer in February. I just checked the serial (it's currently in jail) and the one I am getting is a Gen 2.

I am pleased :)

Possibly a demo rifle?

I wouldn't expect any of those from a brand new rifle unless it was a demo. Every hinge (new and used) I've felt has been very stiff. My sample size though between myself a buddies is smaller compared to some here though.

If you got a deal on it I wouldn't sweat it but I'd be curious the round count on the barrel.

Send me a link I want one lol

Happy Easter

Some people were told they don't ship to the US when they called. I ordered a 3 or 4 months ago and had no problem. Came in about 2 weeks.

And every Tom, Dick and Harry has been finger fu*king it... It's going to get marked up some.

The rubber does develop white looking powder on it. Which in this case could have been mixed with dirt from being on the display shelf.

White stuff on my new ATX, cropped from yesterdays range trip.

Demo, yes. "like new demo"

Man if they ever just let you buy one as a .375CT I would probably get one. I don’t want the .50 parts since I would hardly use them. But that is a shmexy rifle.

EDIT: Does your LabRadar work with that much vertical offset?! If so I need to try that with mine, I keep it at ground level and get more error messages than I’d like due to the muzzle brake gasses.

I use a Piet recoil trigger with that offset, picks up every shot and no errors after adjusting trigger sensitivity to 3.

Okay…not to derail the thread any further buttttt

For my new AT, if I was looking at a 4-16x42 ATACR, the 7-35, or a 5-25PM2 which would you go with?
I own the 4-16 and the 7-35. The 4-16 is nice for a short distance setup or gas guns, but I am partial to the 7-35 for longer range stuff even though I vary rarely get above 15 for any actual shooting.

I commented on your ATACR thread with my AT/NF combo. 4-16X42. But I’ll be more specific

This gun is primarily used as a hunting gun. Crop damage to be exact. It’s on a 308 20” barrel. Primary use being shooting deer inside 500 yards. It’s perfect for that and 4X is useful for close range in low light

My AXMC wears a 7-35 ATACR. I haven’t had a chance to hunt with that yet.

That said I have been left wanting more magnification to ID deer (antlers) at the 400+ yard ranges. As what I shoot needs to be does.

I have used many other higher mag scopes like Athlon Cronus BTR 4.5-29 and deem this a good magnification range for all around shooting

So moral of my story is I like 4X on low end for low light and being this is a primary hunting rifle it works out very well. If I was hunting longer ranges or target shooting 800+ yards I’d opt for the 7-35. I rarely shoot my higher power scopes near max magnification. I will when load testing or identifying at long ranges

Keep in mind there’s a decent size difference between the two. If that matters to you. I’ve posted the pic before but here’s the two in comparison for size. The AX is about 12” behind the AT in this pic. Low profile/locking elevation turret on the 4-16 is nice as well for my application
