You mean AT-X keyslot*

You do realise that the short action AI was made with a 3 lug bolt right , and later they used the same size dia bolt and just put another row of shorter lenght lugs on the bolt head to enable the action to use 300WM & 338LM rounds, back in the old days .
And the newr AX/AT short action uses this bolt head with a smaller dia firing pin .
So if it can take the beating from a 300WM or 338LM , I think it MAY be able to hand a little 6.5 PRC , quite easily , also they use to run the std 3 lug AW rifle with a over pressure 308 ammo , that was 1/2 way between the 308win & 300WM in performance , Lapua HPS .

They have mag bolt face short action bolts some where but are not selling them yet. They do have prc rifles just not offering them. I don’t think the caliber matters. There is a max pressure standard so doesn’t matter if it’s 65,000 psi from a 223 or 338 it’s still 65,000psi.

You would see more thrust force on the bolt lugs with the larger cartridge though because there’s greater case head area for that 65,000psi to act upon.

Yes and AI has one of the most robust bolt heads so there is no issue with a mag bolt face in the short action. Don’t even know why this became a topic. We know the thing is a tank.

There obviously is no issue because the short mag conversion has been out for >two years and not one problem has been reported…who knows how many rounds have been shot or how many competitions they’ve been run in..but I’m guessing a lot

I haven't been on this product page for a while so I'm not sure when this note was added. So, we'll see the AI parts in 2026-2027 timeframe then?

I would do unspeakable things for a thumbhole AT in PRC.

FAT chance that you will ever see them.

I would like a LH 300 WM bolt body so I could put together a 300 PRC...never been offered from what I understand but keep waiting

Been cruising the posts, I am currently shooting an AXMC and AXSR but I am having some deep nostalgia for an AWM or AWSM.

Are we really into the 10k territory for these rifles? Seems impossible to find lately in 2.0 with monopod...

Still waiting on my TBAC 338 Ultra SR, Dominus SR-K, and .308 Bolt; right now, however, mounted is the 6.5 PRC with Ultra 7, then from top to bottom in the case, 18.5" .308, 24" 6.5 CM, and the 27" 300 NM.

Also, for those interested in matching the Elite Sand with a rattle can, Brownells Aluma-Hyde II Coyote is exceptionally close; the ModTac suppressor shield is painted using it.

This will need to be my best set up. I have and AT-X with 18” 308 26” 6gt my favorite. 26” 6 creedmoor and the factory never fired 6.5 creedmoor barrel.

Did a bit of 1200-1500 yard practice today using 300NM with 250 Atips using RL33 and N570. Winds were 20mph from 7-8, good stuff. Tried out some ski feet on the elite iron, it only took a few rounds to decide I suck with ski feet lol, can't load the bipod up. So factory ones went back on. Hope all of you are having a blessed Memorial Day!

Finally got the AX out this weekend - My first AI / bought out of the PX. Love the rifle but feel like the grip (GTac upgrade by previous owner installed) is kinda big for me, and I like a thumb shelf…. Got to poking around in the shop and the MPA Vert is very close to fitting - Am I thinking of this wrong? Anyone else running the MPA grip? Have 3 other MPA chassis so very comfortable with them

Thoughts?

I dislike the grip mod. Went back to the standard and may get a AO thumb shelf. All personal preference

That grip mod is ugly as shit... return it to original if you have it.
