@BurtG This is our Curtis Valor in an AXSR AICS. 20" 1:10" 308.
It's a stunning rifle, it chambers rounds in a way that sometimes you have to check to make sure it stripped one out of the magazine. This rifle is 'tinny', it's clunky, the bolt rattles from side to side, AICS style 12 round 308 steel magazines are noisy under recoil. Even being a 60 degree bolt (which is why the Valor was chosen), it still is nowhere near the same quality.

It's a great rifle and serves it's purpose as a light, easy to shoot and carry rig for 100-500 meter deer hunting and training, but is in a different league in terms of build quality, feel and overall adaptability.

If you don't intend to load, have you looked at Copper Creek? It will cost more, but you can actually have them develop a load for your rifle, then you can order that custom load whenever you need it. If you want higher MV, you can have them do a load development pack to find out how high you can go in your specific rifle before you get into pressure.

I haven't looked at them. I have heard good things about them though.

Don't flame me. I'm just an average dude, screwing around on the ranch and breaking in a new barrel. I have zero aspirations of becoming the next YouTube sensation...which is good, because I suck. Trying to talk and shoot at the same time is harder than I thought.

Also, I had my second feeding issue (different mag this time) with the 6GT. Two different followers. Factory (left), and the second that I got from MH (right)...which I know is also "factory". That is two malfunctions in 85 rounds.

Part of the problem is you are shooting unsuppressed like a uncivilized heathen...

Damn... savage. You aren't wrong, but if I have to shoot a dinky ass short action cartridge it'll be the 6.5 creedmoor .. I reserve my .308 bullets for a real cartridge.like the 300 Norma. 🤣
I’ll see your ridiculous amount of powder consumption and premature throat wear and raise you the time of flight of a wounded homing pigeon

No way is that a 308 projectile, way to sleek and it would have a bc much better than 1.2 G7 or whatever your 308 is rocking. Here's a more accurate picture of a 308 in flight:

You:
Ranging the target just to have the info transfer to your kestrel, then Bluetooth to your phone, spit out .2 MIlL on your fancy watch just to make a 200 yard shot on a 4 moa gong

Vs

Me:
5 stages behind still trying to use my reticle to range the target like it’s 2002 only to lob a projectile with the ballistic coefficient of a wheelbarrow 8 feet to the right

How do you like the Elite Iron bipod compared to the tbac?
More stable , better for accuracy etc. Takes longer to deploy. Less versatile you can’t slide it back closer to you. Takes longer to remove

Tbac is quick , stable enough ,

I like the elite a lot for steadiness / long small shots but the reason I finally got a arca mount to put on my AI is for sideways rooftops at matches. I had cyke bit they are junk sold them. There was a rooftop ^ you shoot left side then right side at MKM. kicked my ass with the tbac. Lol. The elite swivels all the way so will be perfect if I ever have time to shoot matches /practice

I like them enough that 1 has a permanent hone on my AWM

The elite iron works until the mount starts to flex and bend and the ring starts to contact the barrel....

The correct term I believe you are looking for is , Remington 700 in a aics chassis ... Not awm 😜

Aw dang! I did not know that about the EI. Shit I was planning on pulling the trigger on one. Thanks for that..

Shot with a guy at the NF elr challenge last year who's ei had to be bent back every stage because it was bending and contracting the barrel... @Mr. F did you ever get that one fixed?
Yeah I'll have to withhold judgement on this one till Mr. F checks in.. I've got an an EI and at its thinnest the mount steel is .12". Not saying it can't happen, but it had to be an excessive amount of force applied somewhere. I'd think the forend on the AXSR would pop first.
