Groups are good .. ES at 25 -needs a little work. Loading some 153.5’s on the once fired.

Side note: The tangent is superior and the rear rest is a cheater.

Shout out to @plf338, Jorge @NoLegs24, Matt and Fritz for all the help.

Hey pal, Valentine’s Day was almost a month ago, sheesh

When I scored mine a little over a year ago they were fairly difficult to source (and not available to the general public). Up to that point I'd only seen a few in pics, mostly on the ASR and Australian contract rifle, maybe a couple LE rifles as well. I believe they still are tough to acquire, however EuroOptic has a product page for one. Not sure if it's ever been stocked, but lit looks like you can backorder it.

I keep seeing AXSRs with what look like factory Mlok rails all of a sudden, are these available now?
Previously these forends would have come from me. Others were using different screws with the AXSA or MC Mlok rails to make it work on their SRs.

Not until just recently have they offered it up like you see from the EO link that was posted above.

It's a very long lead time for them currently. I should have more this year at some point. Been on order for months already.

You have to get the fixed version. Good news is it's the same skin as folder and has a score mark where you have to cut. I converted my tan and black thumbhole kits very easily. Cut a little long and then fine tune with rigid sanding block with fine sandpaper.

9 green kits in stock. Bunch of AI swag too, I picked up some stickers and a patch.

Edit: DO NOT call and ask if they ship to the US. They will say no but if you just do the order online they ship no problem. Myself and a bunch of others here have ordered from them without issue.
Why do you have to get the fixed version?

Would it be possible to get an order for one in ES?

Es is discontinued........
New rifles, yes. For parts…maybe not. They “discontinued” Sage Green when ES came out, but you could still order barrels in Sage Green the whole time it was discontinued (not NOS barrels, but production orders on-demand). I ordered and received about 3 during that time. Last time I checked, I could still order a new barrel in ES as well, and this has been since they discontinued ES. But that’s barrels, and not an ultra-rare hand guard, so…

My source says once inventory is depleted of es accessories.... No mas ymmv

Just started breaking in my new 'elitist of sand' 6CM barrel. Today was shots 21 - 40. It virtually mirrored the results of shots 1 - 20. Just two boxes of factory Hornady stuff. My barrel hates the 103gr Precision Hunter, but all four groups of 108gr ELD-M were in the .5s and .6s (even when I booger up a shot).

I'll start load development for this one next week. I'm already sitting on the necessary components.

I've come to the conclusion that my numb-assed fingers aren't a good match for the competition trigger. I know the break is supposed to 'surprise you', but I keep doing it trying to register the wall between the first and second stage. The result is that I have to basically stay on target and creep the trigger all the way through.

^ Yes, I've adjusted it to as heavy as I could. Yes, I generally shoot rifles with 2.5 - 3lb triggers for this reason...and Yes, I always look down at my hands while I'm working on equipment and wonder when the hell it was that I cut the shit out of my fingers. 😆It is hereditary.

Sporting Services has all the thumbhole folders in stock (except leftys, sorry wronghanded people). I had been flip flopping on converting mine, but I folded since they're in stock and the AT is going away.

QQ for the group

Did the original competition trigger that AI put out differ from what they are selling today? I am not talking about the ones on the AT-X or AXSR but the one you can buy as an accessory for ~$600.

My AXSR came with an empty bag for the X-TSP AI trigger so presumably that's what is in there :)

Finally got my hands on an AXMC from another user on here. Hoping the large firing pin won’t be an issue even though I’ll be shooting 6.5. Have to say the action and trigger feel amazing.

Hornady is your friend. Although being in your shoes as well, I would love to know what you find out.

Thanks! This is different than what is on my package and looks to be specific for the AXSR
The AXSR trigger housing is specific to the AXSR. In addition to the plate and 2 bolts that usually attach the AI triggers the AXSR also has a roll pin attaching the trigger housing as a backup in case the bolts work loose. On the top of the trigger housing there are 2 ears sticking up and a roll pin goes through those ears and pins the housing to the chassis.

I think the guts of the AXSR trigger are the same as the regular comp trigger. And I have no idea if the regular trigger would install into the AXSR, I've never been brave enough to tap out my roll pin to try it out.

Not any more — they are out of green folding as of 1545 EST.

I (ahem) bought two fixed green ones. One to experiment with that Atlas monopod as a bag-rider and the other in case I crack my existing one. I own a folder but was going to just cut them to fit.

And then the next morning they had folding ones available. So I bought two, as I am lazy.

So instead of returning them across the pond, I might have a couple fixed green ones for sale fairly soon…haven’t arrived yet. Can’t promise you anything as we’ll see how good I am at 7 axis dremel work.

Fellow AXMC 6.5CM enjoyer here:

Hornady uses large rifle primers in their 6.5 eld match line but that line also gets like 100fps ES in the same lot so.... Tradeoffs

Enough of this 6.5Creammoore nonsense. You should all be ashamed of yourselves…today of all days.

Happy 308 day to those men shooting 308 out of their long action safe kweens
Surprised that comp trigger hasn't failed under the recoil of that brass balled 308
