Youngest boy is starting to really grow now. Just turned 8. Burned up a bunch of 6.5cm ammo and 308win in the trg22.

I still want to try it in an AXMC. Everyone says no way because of the magazine and feed ramp. I still want to try to have a guy at work make a bolt head for me and see if I could possibly make something work.223 in an AI? Just get the AICS, AXSR or AT-X, chassis that suits you and use an R700 clone.
But then I wouldn’t be able to post it here
Ok...I see your point.to impress everyone
On the AXMC it just taking the large flathead screw out to remove the head right?
In a thread here,I sadly found out today that the AT-X bridge does not have enough clearance to allow for a Proof competition contour barrel. Some reports on the hide led me to believe otherwise, but I took a couple shots this morning before a match and that sucker shook like crazy when I pulled the trigger and started stringing shots.
Glad I had time to pull it off beforehand.
I shot a proof competition contour (PVA Osprey) without issues with the full bridge. I never paid attention to the clearance when I had the barrel but it must be close where minor dimensional differences can mean the parts touch.I sadly found out today that the AT-X bridge does not have enough clearance to allow for a Proof competition contour barrel. Dumb question is this an AI AT-X or the chassis for other actions? The other issue, is all my barrels 2x factory, 3 Proof Research, and 2 Schneiders sit low and left in the forend. Which makes me think its not necessarily a barrel diameter issue as much as it is a forend alignment issue.
I might try some shims on the rear forend screw, but Im open to suggestions.
Interesting. I have not run barrels with your contour in my AXMC. I run MTU in my AXMC and Proof Competition contours in my AT, and it hasn't been an issue. However, your muzzle diameter is larger. I'll have to make some measurements tomorrow.AXSR
Who are you having do up your proof competition contours?Interesting. I have not run barrels with your contour in my AXMC. I run MTU and Proof Competition contours, and it hasn't been an issue. However, your muzzle diameter is larger. I'll have to make some measurements tomorrow.
Fritz at Black Canyon Customs. Great job, and easy to deal with. He has done 2 for my AT so far.Who are you having do up your proof competition contours?
I know that range. You going to the match Feb 1?
After I installed the bridge it looked like there was plenty of clearance, but the bullet and gun said otherwise. I might just be on the unlucky ends of the tolerance spectrum this time.I shot a proof competition contour (PVA Osprey) without issues with the full bridge. How was the recoil with that RR can?
Has AI been butthurt over civ buying LE guns on small town dept letterhead like folks used to do with peq15s and such? There’s nothing illegal or regulated about it right? Does AI make dept sign something saying they won’t resell?Who’s at Shot?
Grabbed these screenshot, and please please please let this come to the Civvy market
This would be a great question for Mile High. I know they would sell the AT LE with the AX butt stock at times so it all depends I guess?Has AI been butthurt over civ buying LE guns on small town dept letterhead like folks used to do with peq15s and such? Just curious. Not in market for one
I don't believe AI has any specific rules. I think MH sets them. An interested LEO would have to ask.Has AI been butthurt over civ buying LE guns on small town dept letterhead like folks used to do with peq15s and such? AI's usually pretty good about support for us lowly civilians & not just the overlords... I heard we should be able to purchase an AT-X LE XYZ sometime in Q3.

Whenever they want is the case. Hopefully, you are not LH.How often does AI do a run of 308 bolts for the axsr? I know they're hard to find, just trying to manage my expectations.
I think mine took 8 months from time of order to delivery or there abouts. How often does AI do a run of 308 bolts for the axsr? I know they're hard to find, just trying to manage my expectations.
It’s simply the way your action is sitting in the chassis. Loosen up all action screws, then try again, this time making sure everything stays aligned while torquing all screws. The other issue, is all my barrels 2x factory, 3 Proof Research, and 2 Schneiders sit low and left in the forend. Cool, I'll backorder and forget then.I think mine took 8 months from time of order to delivery or there abouts.
Hold your breath if you like, it might be there by the time you wake up.
Why not run the Atlas Monopod to act as a bag rider?Been playing around with the 3D printer trying to draw up a bag rider for the AT. I think I nailed down the final design then I'll have one cut from aluminum.

I’ve been thinking of doing this. Gotta cut the skins, though, and the monopod is not as smooth as the one above (very minor issue for a 500yd dude like me lol). Why not run the Atlas Monopod to act as a bag rider?
Cutting is easy. Just need to be patient and take your time when using files or a serrated knife. Install is easy. Hardest part is taking the bolt for the Monopod to a machine shop if you don't have the right thickness butt pad spacer. But I pretty much use my Monopod as a bag rider for this reason. It also adds counter weight to the rear which is nice.I’ve been thinking of doing this. Does anyone know what drove the redesign of the AT thumbhole rear end? The old design seems like it would handle rear bags better.
I’ve theorized in my head that the larger cutout was to facilitate using the support hand to grab the butt to both control the rifle’s direction better and to make it easier to pull it into the shoulder.
I’m thinking a bunch of scenarios were shooting without a rear bag in improvised positions, off windowsills, etc, where grabbing the butt was more important than ease of use with a rear bag.
I have tried this using someone else's AT that was so equipped. It sucked for several reasons. You can quickly adjust a bag using hand pressure, but not so much with the monopod. It does not adjust quickly, and the range of possible adjustments is limited. I'm glad I got to try it before I cut my skins. Why not run the Atlas Monopod to act as a bag rider?
As said. Use the Monopod as a bag rider. You only deploy it in emergencies. And there's ways to use the Monopod for quick adjustment... You don't fully extend it. There's a nice video on how this is done:I have tried this using someone else's AT that was so equipped. It sucked for several reasons. You can quickly adjust a bag but not so much with the monopod. Oh, I know, I just meant if you don’t like the monopod you can’t go back to stock unless you have extra skins (I do). I was just mentioning that for the audience who might not know what is entailed.Cutting is easy.
Yeah, we’re on the same page. Folded up is how I was thinking of using it. Also, that’s the best vid I had ever found on the monopod’s use, and I believe it was linked from this thread, long ago. Thx for digging it up. Love this place!or folded and just used as a bag rider when not deployed.

I bought my 308 bolt probably 4 months before I even bought my AXSR. I think they were only in stock for a couple days when I was able to order mine. The struggle is real.Cool, I'll backorder and forget then.
I've never seen one used at a match, but I don't see a lot of ATs at matches, either. To each their own. Another member here already has a product like yours, but it's metal. The concept is excellent. This is how I do it on my AT.I'm just not a huge fan of monopods and I didn't want to cut the skins so thats why I figured I'd incorporate it into the buttpad spacer.
