Never really hiked in with mine. Did some spot and stalks from the car with the kids but always packed something lighter if hiking in.

338lapua with 285gr ELD-MDamn, looks like it blew that deer right in half! Must’ve been a 6.5 Creedmoor.
The 130-grain Berger bullet is money. I have used the Federal loaded cartridge in my AT and it is amazing. I have tried it in my MC as well and the performance is comparable. Unfortunately, my MC has an LFP and it craters the small rifle primers.Picked up a used 20” 6.5 Creedmoor barrel that was spun up by TS Customs for my MC.
Berger factory ammo, 130 OTM’s.
Still wrapping my head around the brutal efficiency of this system, went to the post office yesterday morning to grab the barrel, bought two boxes of ammo on the way to the range, couple patches through the bore, 1 fouler round, 3 rd group, zero reset, impacts and hard data in 100yd increments to 1k in -2700 DA in 15mph, gusting 30mph(mostly in my face) in just 21 rounds. Come back to 100 to refine zero and shoot 5 into the group shown.
This thing keeps me stepping back and saying that’s why you buy an AI.
Wicked combination.

GOD's caliber? To prove I actually have and shoot an AI and don't just talk shit. I always intend to take a pic in the act but always forget. Had to take these 2 back out of the case to get the pic before I left.
AT wearing her 6x47 barrel next to her new sister in the Lord's caliber. One of these will be in a match end of the month. Starting to get a hankering for a 24-26" 6.5 barrel for it.

Assuming 308, as I don’t think the Sako comes in 30-06 lolGOD's caliber?
That's the one...the one that was really the 11th commandment that cracked off the stone. "Thou shalt not covet nor loose any other cartridge than that of the most holy .308 Winchester"GOD's caliber?
What length barrel? 17.5" or 18"?

The Berger cartridge with the 130-grain is a large rifle primer, isn't it? If yes, I should give it a go in the MC
Until I asked you, I thought you had the AI ELR 50BMG out there today the way everyone had shunned you on that side of the range.
Any of you fellas tote your AT for mountain hunts?
I'm doing a 2nd rifle elk hunt in CO this October and even though she's a portly gal, I really want to to take my AT with 19" .308 or 24" 6mm Creed barrel. I really don't want to go spend $1800+ on a new rifle and scope for one hunt and I'm confident as hell with the AT/T6Xi combo.
Fools errand? Full blown masochism? Good idea or somewhere in between?
Fwiw this is my first elk hunt but I've got a solid network of family and friends in that area. The 30/30 next to the AT will be going on the trip as a backup and a brush gun if they hide out in the thickets.

One other thing I discovered after buying my AT is that mine came with a lighter-weight profile 308 barrel. EO sells “2018 profile” barrels, which are heavier and came on my AX, and the other barrels are lighter/slimmer.Any of you fellas tote your AT for mountain hunts?

Mile High doesn’t seem to make that distinction?
Perhaps you can check to see which barrel is installed on your rig.
I was told that AI barrels are closest to a medium Palma-type contour. Not exact but close. I always find that contour too light but I am not humping it in the field.I'll have to check that out. I'm not sure what these profiles are exactly. 308 on it is an AINA, FDE 6 Creed came off a newer AX and the shortest is a 6.5 Creed from proof.

Maybe I can find a takeoff in the EE and have it turned down to a shorter weight. Might look goofy as hell but it'll surely save weight.
I have a medium palma blank from Lothar Walther . I'll double check it but I'm fairly sure it's slightly lighter than a pre 18 AI barrel. I think the marksman contour is more in line.I was told that AI barrels are closest to a medium Palma-type contour. Not exact but close. All the barrels I have had built are either Heavy Palma or MTU.
I am not familiar with that contour. Is it specific to LW?I have a medium palma blank from Lothar Walther . I'll double check it but I'm fairly sure it's slightly lighter than a pre 18 AI barrel. I think the marksman contour is more in line.
I believe the black barrels are pre 18 or whatever they’re called. The bottom barrel appears to be post 18. They have that “step” in the pre 18 where the contour slims down a bitI'll have to check that out. No the ones I used to buy were bartlein. A few other companies made them back before straight contour was the match contour. People wanted more than a med palma but not quite a heavy palma so the marksman was born.I am not familiar with that contour. Is it specific to LW?
I have a couple of pre-18 LW barrels. I would agree that they are probably larger than the medium Palma. My LW barrels are thinner than my heavy Palma barrels.
Any of you hoarding heathens have AT green folding thumbhole skins laying around?
Like Bigfoot, Elvis and a Tiffany that ain't white trash - people say they see em all the time but they don't exist.
I just have a front set of greens. Would love a back set (have black back)Any of you hoarding heathens have AT green folding thumbhole skins laying around?

Id like you to know you just cost me 90 GBP. You made me realize I had green fronts and there was nothing stopping me from ordering a green thumbhole kit.All green currently (non thumbhole) but trying to embrace the thumbhole life and a AO Vision chassis that's on the way shortly.
Where did you get the green thumb hole kit from?Id like you to know you just cost me 90 GBP. You made me realize I had green fronts and there was nothing stopping me from ordering a green thumbhole kit.
Now I have a black thumbhole kit collecting dust.... need black fronts and pistol grip and I'll dip those.
If anyone has black (or any color) fronts and pistol grip they want to offload let me know.

Accuracy International - Thumbhole Grip Upgrade Kit
The Accuracy International thumb hole grip upgrade kits are available in fixed or folding and includes a thumbhole backstrap, rear end mouldings, and screws. For AT, will also fit AW and AWM. Fits new style stocksides only.www.sportingservices.co.uk
You have to get the fixed version. Good news is it's the same skin as folder and has a score mark where you have to cut. I converted my tan and black thumbhole kits very easily. Cut a little long and then fine tune with rigid sanding block with fine sandpaper.
9 green kits in stock. Bunch of AI swag too, I picked up some stickers and a patch.
Edit: DO NOT call and ask if they ship to the US. They will say no but if you just do the order online they ship no problem. Myself and a bunch of others here have ordered from them without issue.
They are going on my AT in a week or so….i got them from (pm’d you)Any of you hoarding heathens have AT green folding thumbhole skins laying around?
Sure hope that’s a 6.5cm lmao
Probably a 22br. Those guys are scared of recoil and a 6gt might be too much for him. Can't afford a decent scope but you got time and money to step out on the main huh
...smdh wtf is that POS? That's a6gt impact huh
I run decent scopes; Steiner and Burris FTWCan't afford a decent scope but you got time and money to step out on the main huh

Anything heavier than skins though and I might start having an issue with luggage weight
