Have an ax50 with one of the older two port brake that I want to upgrade to the newer three port version due to its greater recoil reduction properties. inquired with AINA about the three port version and it would cost $600...

Not wanting to spend that much My quest to find a brake with m24 x 1 threads yielded just the aac cyclops which does not seem would be much of an improvement over the current brake in terms of recoil reduction. So does anybody know of any other muzzlebrake options that are more effective at recoil reduction for an ax50?

Mcmillan and barrett both have different thread pitches, barret didn't change their thread pitch for the newer m107a1. To go with that, I ruled out getting the rifle rethreaded as after service and shipping fees to and back, I'd probably be close enough to $600 that it'd probably just be better to save time and hassle and get the ax three port.

Thanks for the tip ill contact and them see where it goes

Been thinking of possibly going and getting a custom made break, but not really sure who does that kind of thing, anybody know anyone who have made and will make a 50 bmg brake in m24 x 1?

Call Jered Joplin at APA and see if he would accept the challenge to scale up the Fat Bastard dimensions and threading it in m24 x 1. Maybe call it the Morbidly Obese Bastard.

Already in APAs production line. It's called the XXX Bastard. Call and see if he will thread it m24x1.

From American Precision Arms Website

Our XXX brake was specifically designed for cartridges from the 375 Cheytec to the 50 cal. If you think you are going to
put this "Bastard" on your 308 think again. It's probably the same size as your 308. It weigh's in at 1.5 lbs and comes threaded 1x14 tpi.
The XXX is 5.0" long and 1.490" in diameter.
