thinking about getting one, i dont bash or bang my stuff around like Frank does but it seems like something worth having how ever will it work with the arms #22 and the throw lever ?

Have you ever bounced the aimpoint off something hard enough for it to matter?
That dinky rubber cover isn't gonna do much if you actually hit it hard enough to do damage. If you do, it'll probably shear off the top of the rifle before the rubber helps anything. It's for people who want the aimpoint to match.

I'll go the other way and say it is well worth it. I won't get an Aimpoint without the rubber cover. Never had any problems with the rubber cover. Other than the price there is nothing negative about the rubber covers.
