On my personal weapon I have an Aimpoint Comp M2/ Aimpoint Magnifier setup, and I like it. I cannot say I have had any problems with it, it does what I need it to for near/ far shooting.
At work we have a mix of guys with Eotechs and Aimpoints. I use and will continue to use an Aimpoint out of personal preferance and experience. We were just issued Eotech magnifiers, and the first thing I noticed was that the dot was not centered in my magnifier. I found out that you have to adjust the magnifier to the optic; much different than the Aimpoint magnifier.
Once I did this, everything seems to work like it should, My groups are pretty consistent weather I shoot magnified or not.
Other guys (with Eotech optics) were claiming that they were experiencing point of impact shifts when they went back and forth from magnified to unmagnified. Has anyone experienced this problem? Is it due to not having the magnifier properly zeroed to the Eotech optic? Could it be scope shadow or parallax? I was under the assumption that these problems did not affect reflex and red dot type optics. Are these guys just effed up?
