Im scared shitless and havent slept well in two months.
I just want to be left alone.
I lost sleep for weeks until I resolved myself to a clean conscience, wrote and submitted my exemption request. I still haven't heard from work if I will be terminated or accommodated but I have peace about my decision. I am early in a lucrative healthcare career, but nothing is more valuable than my right to live as a free man, practice my faith and raise my family as I see fit. I am an American and I want to be left alone and have my liberty remain intact so I will fight to the bitter end if need be.
One other thing to think about. I've been in primary flight training for forty years. Where are they going to get replacement pilots for the regional lines. We've been short on replacing retiring pilots for years. Military............ don't think so.

For all the shit people go through to get into a major, and all of a sudden to take a “I won’t put up with this” seems odd to me
If you were in the cockpit you’d see a purposeful increase in TWA’s flying out planes.
I just did, with a certain major that recently had a meltdown due to rumored pilot sick outs. Got an offer last week along with a “contract” stating that I would not proceed with the hiring process unless I committed to the shot. Absolutely devastated me to get that close after 15+ years of eating shit at a regional, and pissed off a great wife of 25 years. But I will not prostitute myself and my convictions for any job, no matter how appealing.
People have to take a stand.
I personally will never submit to their demands.

But I never was willing to do the regional thing, and even if the opportunity for a direct entry came up, I’m just not rank and file enough for a major, maybe back in the old pan am days, but even to make really good money for those 5 years before retirement, meh

If the Republic lives my court demands will include full payment for any service missed to include average of overtime for years worked before, damages, lawyer fees and full retirement immediately with benefits.

Im hearing two agencies in MA blinked ahead of the Sunday mandate deadline.
State Police and DOC will be fully manned Monday......no one being put on unpaid leave.
National Guard scabs will have to stand down.

Agreed, first was a probing attack to see where the weaknesses were and how to exploit. Next they will bring the pain.

First off, im a pilot, I have no morals...
I believe you when you say you are ready to walk away... I'm not mostly because I dont want to become a homeless vagrant... Call me what you want, but its the decision I have made while staring down the barrel of a loaded and cocked gun. I have already worked for a company that mandated vaccines, I got 9 the first week of training at my last company and didnt think twice about them honestly...the prostate exam in the mens room was a bit odd, but whatever... I dont hold hope for any exemptions and have filed none myself after speaking to a few people on both possible exemptions. And even IF the company grants them, I suspect it will end up like United Airlines and they will just place you on unpaid leave(thats a current court case). So since I am not willing to go live on the streets(my wife wouldnt like that either) I have come to the decision I am going to eat shit on this and get the vaccine. Again, hold whatever opinion you want of me, I have spent a lot of time thinking about this over the past few weeks.

I see the passengers as innocent pawns in this whole game. THEY didnt mandate shit. They may have beliefs either way. They just want to go from A to B and GENERALLY dont want to get caught up in politicking, although I know most understand what is going on and why, like it or not.
My company has doubled down and maybe now tripled down on complying... I dont see them backing down for anything short of a court order...which, again, based on the recent track history of our judiciary, I dont see any judge issuing one before December 8th...although stranger things have happened.

If leaving your current job would be you living in the streets, that’s not a good indicator of your pilot game.
Lots of 91/135s that ain’t onboard with government forced injections, not too hard to find a six figure job if you have some skills on a few types and a ATP with over 2500tt

I don’t often fly on a 121, I find them disgusting, as the whole 121 airport process experience, I don’t fly on carriers who pull that shit.
Vote with your wallet, be loud, send emails, make memes, works for the left and they don’t even have logic or morals on their side most of the time.
IMO, not many good/stable bizav operators are going to want to hire a former airline pilot who walked away from a legacy airline over a vaccine mandate. There certainly may be some HNWI jobs or <100 employee corporations that are out there, but they'd be the exception rather than the norm...especially in supermid or larger equipment.
Not to mention the good jobs flying globals or gulfs going international into countries that require the vaccine for entry with no exemption available.

At one point, out of fear, people suggested AIDS sufferers be "marked", masked or otherwise identified in public so they could be shunned. This was rejected as inhumane.
I can only guess if someone were in police custody and subject to such treatment that the civil rights case payout would be huge.

They have the data to prove what they say.
I will say it again, if Southwest management thought the pilots(or any other unionized work group) were staging an illegal sick out, they would be in front of a judge in 30 seconds... That has not happened to my knowledge. That IMO is a tacit admission that the company fucked up...
