Wasn't sure which forum to put this small rant in, but was pretty sure it didn't belong in the Advanced Marksmanship forum despite the recent bump-fire 101 thread.

I've been carrying an AR15A3 as a patrol rifle for 12 years and other than a flashlight, haven't done anything to it. This week I decided to finally add some upgrades. Conceptually I understand how to remove the front sight post, but jumped on youtube to see if I could find a video of how to do it before blindly pounding at the pins. 90% of the @#*($^ videos were of kids AND "adults" working on airsoft guns. AAARRRRGGGHHHH !!

I got it figured out and all is good, but that's 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Take my word on it. It is a pain trying to get a pinned front sight post off.

It's easier to start from scratch, but if this is a duty weapon then my preference is on the same pinned front sight you have on now.

I feel your pain brother. I have to do reference searching for different firearms every day at work. I spend as much time filtering out all the airsoft trash as I do collecting real images. Those airsoft bastards have made my internet life miserable as well.

Read my signature, I am with you, completely.

The way I found out about airsoft, had know clue what it was, was trying to find some stuff for my wife's FN PS90. Nothing is for real guns its all these robo commando oxygen thief mouth breathing moronic nerds shooting airsoft toy guns.

I got so annoyed I stopped looking for whatever it was my wife wanted and just told her that gun stays the way it is.

Hold up, this is something we all run into. Google, YouTube, so on. I think it would of been a good reply if you would of left it at your first sentence. You haven't ever bitched about anything on a forum before?

I did that, thank you very much. My google-fu skills are powerful. Trouble is, many of the airsoft-commandos don't put the word, "airsoft" in their video description.

I cut my front sight off with a hack saw and ground it down till it looks good. Very functional and free.

I ultimately just walked into my local gun shop with a pathetic look on my face and asked them to do it before I broke something. They knocked it out in 5 minutes, no problem, no charge. .....of course I windowshopped myself into $238 worth of stuff in that 5 minutes.

OK. So what was your search phrase? I went on YouTube and entered (front sight "post" on an ar15 -airsoft) and received 46 results, none contained airsoft gear that I could see. I did however find that the fifth video was a very good demonstration by a gentleman from Brownells. Seems so easy that the rant was kinda pointless.

I wasn't trying to be overtly rude, I was just mildly irritated that your post wasn't funny; and I don't really understand all the airsoft complaining. Never had much interest in it myself, but what other folks want to piss away their time/money on is not really my concern. It's not that difficult to avoid if you have a mind to.
