Anyone got experience with this? I am looking at one in Gen III as I can export it to New Zealand unlike almost everything else. Are they any good? Mounts etc available anywhere?

Don't want to drop $4k on it and find it's an ATN piece of shit or something.

Re: Alpha Optics 'mini monocular'

Just a few quick points.

1. Gen III doesn't mean much. You need to know what the tube specs are and what model it is. Russian Gen3 is not all you might expect from a GenIII. You want a new US made Gen3 if possible.

2. I don't recognize the housing but it doesn't have a threaded objective... It looks kind of Russian to me also - not that that's a bad thing, but you don't know if the glass is good or cut from old coke bottles. ( I'm kidding about the coke bottles... But you get the idea )

3. Ask if they have any through-the-lens pictures from one of these scopes. They might not and it doesn't mean anything if they don't have but it's always good to make sure the image is crystal clear all the way to the edge. Even some US scopes suffer from this but at least you know.

Update - OK with a different objective lens it would look like a MV-14... That lens confused me.

Sorry - I've never seen that objective anywhere else and couldn't find another.

Perhaps someone else here knows more?
