A few years ago the town was coming up against the mandated ratio for housing units.
There are 15 or 20 acres of conservation land behind my house. It's in the conservation trust. In the center of this woods is an old brick house, actually very nice, that I assume to be the former home of the party that wanted to put their land into the conservation trust.
The town wanted to use that house as "affordable housing units" but that would require transferring all the land over to the Housing Dept.
They promised us they would never build there they only want to use the housing to meet Federal mandated housing quotas.

Fortunately everyone got upset and told them to fuck off.....racists.
But they will be back.
