any final verdict on these? rep seems mixed from what i have seen. they are cheap,so not KAC etc. just wondering if they have been shown to me serviceable and reliable in a minimum use way. like maybe 100r/mo and 2-3000r service life. tx. for input.

We sold several when I worked at the LGS. And I have built a few guns on their receivers.

I find them to be middle of the road. Kind of like a Ford or Chevy. Perfectly adequate but not fancy or very refined. If you want a Porsche grade gun it probably isn’t what you want.

Do you know that Anderson rebrands most of their products for other companies? If the internet fan boys knew the truth about some of their "best makers" they would die.........

I have 3 Anderson Stripped lowers that I SBRed, no issues at all. I will say that they are 100% better then all of the KAC stripped lowers that I have seen.

Got an Anderson complete lower I’ve used on a couple builds.

Only complaint is castle nut wasn’t staked and has no notches so it worked loose once. Easy enough fix. Has otherwise worked fine on an AR15 and an AR9 run off Endomags.

Will they lockup and have the hand fit feel? No

Did I have an upper receiver that wouldn't let the forward takedown pin close with one of my RRA lowers? Yes

Do you see many using more than a simple stripped receiver? No

Are they durable? Hard to screw up a lower but the BCG / barrel are more touchy so I'd spend $ elsewhere for that

Are they cheap? Yes

Just as good? No

Trash.

But I'm sure the "jUsT aS gUuD" poors will be along shortly to say they are just as good as X brand.

LOL.
Haven't been able to get a lower from Anderson in over a year!
Always Out of Stock!
Of course everyone knows Anderson Manufacturing sell to more than half the companies out there building AR platforms. Then they just put their roll mark on Anderson's lowers!
Cheap? Yep, because they've been producing them forever!

But then again you're right!
I'm really upset with their "trash"!
Please everyone , quit using Anderson!
I need more lowers!😡

I bought an Anderson AM10 a few years ago. 1st AR10 platform.
It ran fine but was over gased an my reloads were a little to hot for it. Factory ammo was gtg. 18" carbine length gas.
I bought a 20" barrel from Anderson and it was setup for an Armalite gas tube and added an AGB.It ran a lot better. Shot great an was $115.
Yep I'm a poor. Lol

Later I installed a heavier buffer spring and a HP bolt with a small firing pen.

I got a wild hare and bought a Savage msr 10 and sold my Anderson to my son and he loves it.
Wish I still had it😉

My girlfriend could shoot ragged 1 hole groups with it! She can always show me up! But she can shoot all my rifles with really good results!

how much are you looking to spend on an AR and what do you want to do with it? I’m sure there are better choices available.

This thread reminds me, I’ve got an Anderson lower in the safe.
Guess I’ll have to start hoarding up parts so I can build some sort of sub-standard AR on it (insert sarcasm emoji here).......

The good ol' poverty pony lower.
The one I have on a build is functionally fine, however compared to other lowers I have the anodizing is a major step down. As long as its in spec it'll serve you fine, but it will never not be a 40 dollar lower.

this is not arfcom so please don't act like it

that said, pretty sure my poverty pony will shoot just as well as my colts, lmt, noveske, bushmaster, lwrc and other sisters in the safes. There is no voodoo magic to ARs only manufacturing variances and economies of scale. Saw a sandrat with a weapon made out of dirt molds from paki do pretty well so fairly confident a modern American manufacturer that supplies most major companies with parts will do ok.

Built one rifle on a stripped lower, and one on an assembled lower from Anderson. No issues with either.

I did swap the trigger on the assembled lower for a LaRue MBT-2S, and staked the castle nut. I am using a Cerro forged upper (Anderson uses them) and an Anderson upper parts kit in that build (barrel and BCG are BA, handguard is MI). Everything mated as tightly/well as any of my DD/FN rifles, or Aero builds. Not saying that the parts are as bomb proof...just that they fit together as well.

No experience with their barrels, BCGs, or anything else. Not on my radar unless I were really trying to throw a budget build together.

I built on a poverty pony lower, used their lower parts kit with a LaRue MBT-2S trigger. Had zero trouble out of the lower. Have not had any experience with their full rifle but I’m sure it’s fine.
