Another pitbull attack

I grew up around Pitts and they are extremely good dogs unfortunately for them they are raised and demonized by beasts that aren't worthy of owning them or anything more complicated than a banana.
Aggressive by nature yes but so are humans by a far greater degree.
There should be an intelligence test for people allowed to own them.
I feel more for the dogs than the dogs that haven't evolved enough to own them.
If people don't understand the basics of canine behavior they should not be allowed to own them or other dog breeds with aggressive behavior and there are many not just bull terrier breeds.

Hesitant to share, but I pulled my handgun on a pitty a cpl days ago.

I was getting tools etc from the side door of my van. I hear someone calling their dog and see that it's this pit not listening and approaching me not aggressively, but as a matter of fact. I drew but kept my arm concealed in the van hoping that I didn't need to dome somebody's dog.

I addressed the dog in a friendly way when it got close enough to be a problem, and as it turned out, it was a big loving baby. I expected as much, but with their reputation I was a bit tense. People should have a lot more care about letting their dogs run loose, especially breeds with such a reputation. The owner didn't reach me until his dog moved on. I'm sure he noticed that this could have gone differently but he didn't acknowledge anything

ETA: I was in a shit hole part of the city. I would probably not have been as stressed if I was in a better neighborhood. I do believe that most dogs are good boys. People who live in shitholes make them bad

Dogs used to just eat your homework, now the fuckers are shooting people. I guess he had to come up with some excuse to explain how he got a bullet hole. You go to the er with a gsw and pretty sure they call the popo.

He must not of been a real gun guy as he would of blamed a P320 for the discharge

have known good and bad pits, rotts, dobs, gsds. knew very few Bouviers but never saw a bad one. by good/bad i mean much or little unprovoked aggression. a lot of the sport dogs were sleeve happy, like mine, and had to be openly threatened to show aggression in the absence of a sleeve. just nature and nurture like humans.
