Rifle Scopes Another Scope Reccomendation Thread

Hey Gang,

Looking to put some glass on a Tikka T3X CTR in the 260 Rem variety. Thinking a mid powered variable scope would fit the bill although I could be talked into a high powered one. The rifle will mostly be used for paper and steel 100-1000 yards. Might use it for medium size big game every once and a while as well. Don't really have a budget (yes I realize the scopes below are quite a bit more expensive than the gun itself ) looking at FFP scopes. Below are some that are on my radar, other suggestions would be welcomed should you have any.

Those are all really good choices, our preference in no order would be the Kahles K624i, Minox ZP5 5-25 or 3-15, Tangent and the Nightforce ATACR F1 4-16.

Wow, that's a nice list of very excellent rifle scopes there, all pretty much the cream of the crop. You could put any one of those on your rifle and be happy. With so many choices I would suggest you narrow it down based on 1., The reticle and 2., whether or not you want illumination (for the hunting part).

I stumbled on the Minox Zp5 5-25x50 thread started by mrobles3808. After reading everyone's rave reviews of the scope I've moved it towards the top of my list.

That's an awesome list. I always lean towards Vortex because I like their reticle. The AMG looks really promising but as stated, you can't go wrong with any of them. Good taste!

If i was gonna use it for hunting quite a bit, my first choice would be AMG mostly for the weight and higher mag range. (Just my preference) As others have already said, you really can't go wrong with any from that list. I have the 4-16 F1 NF and it's a great scope! Currently saving up for the ZP5 and an AMG. Hell, if you don't really have a budget, get a good mid magnification scope, and a higher mag range scope! A 4-16 and a 5-25/6-24 and you'd be GTG!

Thanks Richard, next time I'm in the market I will definitely get ahold of CSTactical. I ended up finding a Vortex AMG HD (MRAD) on the forums here. Figured it was one of the better "cross over" scopes... and it was the flavor of the day.

I'm tempted on the TT 5-25, but the ZP5 has really, really impressed me (for a bunch less money). I have a couple of them on order w/CST presently. Call Mike/Richard, they've been a great deal of help to me.
