Kinda thinking about getting one of these in the near future. I love the AK's reliability and wonder if the AK and the 12 gauge came together to make a sweet weapon with the same AK reliability and user friendliness.. Also info and feedback on the magazine options... I have seen 20 rd extended mags, drums, etc,etc.....Thanks for any info...SmokeRolls

I have owned several, I do conversions for my local gunsmith as well as anyone that hits me up locally. They run pretty well, as long as it is broken in properly, I have had some issues with some light loads with the gun not fully cycling. After about 200 rounds it seems to work itself out. There were also a batch of them that came here with no gas ports drilled, QC isn't that important in Russia apparently. The other downside is that they will not sell replacement parts for them, you have to buy another gun. There are several mags available, I have used the AGP and Surefire mags with good success. I also had some of the russian 8 round mags. There are also several aftermarket parts you can get for them now so that gives you many options for customizing them.

I have two in 12ga., a stock one and one being built up for open division in 3gun by R&R racing targets. The stock one was finicky for the first couple hundred rounds and then it smoothed out. If you are mechanical at all converting one is not that hard I am told and there is a wealth of info at Saiga12.com. I chose not to convert my open division one and let Robert take care of it but may try with the stock one. Check out both sites, the saiga is a very nice weapon.

Thanks for the imput.. I believe I will start looking for one at a casual pace. Whats a good "average price that one would go for? I live in Kentucky so things are quite resonable and easy to find. We have many good gun dealers and gun shops all around central Ky.....Thanks for your help and advice..SmokeRolls
