Any tips on removing Krylon?

My rifle is haggard looking. Not necessarily a bad thing, I just have a new stock on the way and I don't really wanna have fresh paint over a few layers of old crap. I hear using "Klean Strip" is the way to go. Just unsure as to which of the hundreds of types of Klean Strip I ought to be using.

If any of you have stripped your rifles with this stuff, or have any other suggestions on how i should go about this, your input would be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention that I'm lazy as shit. So please, alcohol and a scrub brush is not the kind of advice I'm looking for. Thanks guys.

I used Acetone and cotton balls a few months ago to strip the paint off a scope. It was a lot faster than I expected. Heavily saturate the cotton patches and rub the scope/stock and it came off pretty quick. The entire scope took about 30mins including the finer areas.
If it's just a rifle stock you may be able to use a fine sand paper/scoth bright pads depending on the material of the stock.

Its actually everything EXCEPT the stock. I have a Mcmillan on the way, and was ganna strip my barreled action, then paint the entire rifle in its new stock. I just didn't want to have my old krylon covered action, sitting in a freshly painted stock. I would usually just paint over the old stuff, but its getting pretty thick and is time to start fresh.

I've had good results with the paint strippers in gel form. It's way cleaner than liquid paint stripper that will streak and get stuck in cracks and crevices of the rifle/scope.
Citristrip is the last brand of gel stripper I've used. Make sure to use a plastic scraper and you'll be good to go.

The orange gel shit at walmart, cant remember the name but its in the paint section, is very user friendly. Just apply and let set for 20-30 minutes and scrub off. May have to repeat a few times. Its not causticand you can use it while watching tv in the house. Brake cleaner works well also, but can take 2 or so cans. Plus you'll get feeling a little woozy using it in the house...might forget what you started doing.

I just used acetone on my XLR chassis. Took the old krylon right off.

If its just the barreled action,

1. Apply paint stripper.

2. Wait about 20 minutes.

3. Fire up powerwasher and blow all the old paint off.

4. Dry and oil.

You are not going to hurt it with water, and no scrubbing since you are "lazy".

You sir, are a genius. I now have a paint free setup. I used acetone on my scope though

Well I had an old painted AR that I needed to strip, it worked great on that.

I've used Zip-Strip on door frames. It's a gel, just rub it on, wait a few minutes, and the paint will practically fall off.

Acetone! Whatever you do DONT use laquer thinner, it will melt the plastic

Any time I have to remove paint I go to the nearest auto parts store and pick up a cheap can or two of brake and parts cleaner it will strip it right off and dries with no oil residue. If you want to repaint take a clean rag and some denatured alcohol to clean prior to paint.

Kleen Strip spray gel will eat the plastic off the door and paint off of the AAC-SD( and I assume SPS) bottom metal if you are not quick. Once the plastic is gone from the door it fits sloppy and you get yourself some noise.
