Have been using FFS on the NOMAD for quite some time, finished charging it the other day and the screen is mostly whited out/washed out but still works. Seems that whatever video interface it uses is going bad. Everything else is 100%.

I see I can buy the LCD replacement units for like $60 online but have no idea how feasible it is to swap it out or what is all involved.

Anyone ever mess with theirs before?

TheGerman, I had to replace mine and it is really pretty easy. Just take some pics as you go. Make sure all the seals get back in proper places. I am not a computer guy at all ,but it was easy enough to do. Jeff

Good to know i have had mine about 5 years and I am running FFS also. I know FFS is not the new hotness but works for me. I was out today and was .3 mill off from FFS said to what i needed at 2242 yards.

For $85 you can get CB on a Windows Phone (used ones are very cheap, and all of them have GPS to fully take advantage of CB functions) And you can synch data with CB PC version too, cloud data back up, etc.) I sold my Nomad along with my Juno3B years ago and switched over to the Win Phone. In short, I've never looked back

Microsoft are discontinuing support for windows phones in 2019, so I wonder how that will impact future updates of CB for same. I’ve been tossing up CB or FFS but buying another Trimble PDA is a big investment. Good to hear the screens are user-replaceable though.. ;)

You may have a good point timewise, but the unsupported OS is 8.x not 10.x which is what I'm running my Nokia on, besides that Microsoft left the PDA OS unsupported about five years ago and used phones come very cheap.
