Anyone's doc not sold on the COVID vaccine?

I'm not taking it. None of my staff is taking it. We all see 20-35 patients a day since April so we have been around anything out there and not one of my staff is interested in it. Covid is 99.7 or .8% of survival for the healthy and that is without medical treatment. Vaccine is not FDA approved and in my opinion rushed to market....not recommended under 18....not recommended for birth age women, etc. No thanks, I'll take my 0.2% chances. I am also one that doesn't wear a mask outside work and won't patron anywhere that requires it...except the liquor store

Yeah. I have been doing my own digging through all the propaganda to find some actual scientific data as well as some informed medical opinions. I just don’t feel comfortable taking such a new experimental vaccine, especially one that utilizes such a new technology.
My mother's doctor, first generation Chinese immigrant from Fuzhou, ain't taking it.

Asked my GP about it, mentioned the Frontline Doctor's video, and he said there is some validity to it.
My take is that the Pfizer and Moderna are not a fucking vaccines at all. Maybe the Johnson and Johnson one is. They seem to be taking a bit more time and using known routes.
At least for now Ill take my chances with Zinc, Selenium, and Vitamin D.

The hospital where my wife works isn't requiring employees to get them. Too much is still unknown about the vaccine.
Not a Dr but a diabetic, I'll likely get it first chance.

My son's father in law and his sister in law are both doctors. They were both mandated because they work out of the hospital. This is PA, so I don't know if these things are controlled by the state, county or the Feds.
Why are their countries that are banning the vaccines? Seems odd that we are not being told about these instances

The virus itself is very benign, and requires pre-existing conditions and co-morbidities to exploit in order to be deadly. The median age of death worldwide from COVID-19 is around ~80-82. The average mortality in the US is older then the average life expectancy, and has 2.9 co-morbidities.

CDC's VAERS is showing high rates of adverse effects, as did the clinical trials. Younger people seem to suffer more from adverse effects then older people, but also are at a lot lower risk of COVID-19. I've also heard some interesting (and scary things) about high frequency of blood clotting markers being exhibited in young people (below 40) that get the vaccine.
If you are not in an at-risk group, it doesn't make sense to get it. Not with the potential unknowns and adverse side effects.

South Africa is not using the AstraZeneca one, due to how ineffective it's proven to be against the new variants.
My wife works in healthcare. Directly with Covid / SARS 19 patients every shift. I’m not getting the vaccine. And neither is she. She is worried about the affects on her body if she should convince me to have another wonderful child with her, what the consequences might be on future child birth. Neither of my children are getting it either.
At my workplace alone, roughly 70% of the staff have had COVID within the last 3 months. Each time, people took time off, contacts went to get tested, etc... Everybody is back at work now...
A long time neighbor is an MD, genetic researcher and part of the Genome project. He is globally recognized for his work in developing genetically modified viruses for treatment of common cancers. He knows and has worked with the people at BioNtech (sp?). My wife works in the medical field so we talked to him about the vaccine as she had some concerns. He understands the science as well as anyone and alleviated her concerns. He can be a bit of bit of a prick at times but I trust him on the science and he gives it a thumbs up FWIW.

Efficacy of the vaccine based on vehicle science model thumbs up is one thing......number, quantity, length and quality of trials is another. All of those are suspect to me. If you have real risk those things are not as important. However, if you are healthy and especially healthy and young they matter a great deal. Unlike the unity and forgiveness crowd though, I would never disparage anybody that wants it for any reason even if that reason is simply scared to death from all the presentation.
The technology is allegedly really cool. In theory/principal, it's supposed to be a pretty big breakthrough in scientific technology.
What is not known is how the human body reacts to this technology. Testing has been very limited in scope of people enrolled (mostly younger and healthy people, no pregnant people, no highly allergenic groups, etc), along with very limited time. At this point, our knowledge is mostly from a theoretical standpoint.
No matter how good and how smart we as a species think we are, there is still a lot we don't know. The human body is an extremely complex machine, and there are many aspects that are still out of our grasp of understanding. We still get a lot of things wrong, especially when it comes to medicine and the human body. From a personal/individual standpoint, I believe it's safer to sit this giant clinical phase 3/4 experiment out. Especially when this virus represents statistically no threat to me. If this was a highly transmissive and airborne strain of ebola, that would be something else. But I'm not willing to be a test subject for a brand new type of technology, not when the risks for the virus are so low.

On 1 hand I have absolutely zero ideas as to what all the injections, liquids, capsules and pills were that Uncle Sam made me take so claiming the "I don't know what is in the covid vaccine" is kind of a mute point....
On other hand my Ukrainian doctor can provide me with vaccination documents when I see him in April when I go visit Ministry....

It is really cool technology! He's in human trials with a lot of early success but there are some side effects - nothing too bad though. I hope he succeeds as it would be good to have a highly effective cure for some common cancers in our lifetime. Basically the modified virus makes the cancer "visible" to the body's immune system and it destroys the cancer from the outside in rather than other methods that get the main tumor or growth and it pops up again elsewhere in the body.
I'm with you on the wait and see approach as I don't feel personally threatened by it at this point. While we have made amazing strides in scientific understanding there is still a lot that is not understood.
Don't worry though our taxes will still be sent to the Wuhan virol institute to study viruses so they can make another bioweapon that makes this one pail in comparison

The fact that I'm a diabetic and on dialysis should indicate that I'm the first in line. BUT... I just don't trust a vaccine that was developed in 4-6 months and only tested 2-3 months before it's generally accepted as safe.
I'll stay inside, live like a hermit until I see how this vaccine is going to effect people in the long term. Who knows, I may have already had the virus.

I don't get most vaccinations, because I'd rather have flu, covid, etc., than Guillain Barré Syndrome. Most illnesses aren't as bad as, being paralyzed for months, or the rest of my life. My brother-in-law is a PMR physician, who's treated 25-30 GB patients, over the past 20 years. They all developed GB, six weeks post vaccination. He advises against the vaccine. I trust him and I'll decline the china-flu vaccine.

An excellent retort to the tyrants forcing mask use. As an argument against the vaccine I'm not so sure. First you would have to feel the mask offered protection. I don't believe it offers much protection.
Would have to go back and read again, but if I remember possibly Japan, India, South Africa and more are looking into banning certain vaccines.

I have MS and my Neurologist said to not take it until they research it more. My Wife is a transplant patient and her transplant clinic said the same thing. Every other Dr or medical type person that I have talked with believes in it, including a family member.
I got it (Moderna) and my wife got it (Pfizer).
We were early recipients. Doing just fine.

I live in a neighbor where I know at least a few dozen of them are doctors. Hell one of them replaced my dads knee last month and another is his heart doctor because he as AFip. We all talk and know each other pretty well for neighbors. I would say about 2/3s say they are for it but then joke about how rushed it was which is not exactly reassuring. The other 1/3rd will say they are not for it. I'm in a very red state too btw. Last election it was almost 60% Trump so there is not a lot of that "get the shot" propaganda going on here. Personally I'm not going to get it. I got covid and was over it in 5 days. So I'll just sit around my house on my ass and eat and drink if I get it again.
