I am in vegas for the next few days, is there anywhere I need to check out? I am not looking for a place to shoot a full auto for 2 bucks a shot. Looking for a place that has some cool long range toys.

At the far end of the strip is a burger stand where you can get an awesome burger and a Lavalamp( champagne with jello shots floating in it)
I like to go there to start my evenings in Vegas.

None of the gun stores in Las Vegas that I've found have much in the way of long range rifles. It's just not that sort of place.
Personally, I'd strongly recommend heading north up to Valley of Fire State Park and spending a day or two up there. It's about a billion times more relaxing and fascinating to explore than The Strip, and roughly that much cheaper to experience as well.

Sad fact is there is nothing to come to Vegas for unless you like to drink or gamble,I have lived here all my life (50years) and I can tell you its not a shooter/hunter town,its anti-gun at best.
Took the place years to finally open a shooting range after totally closing off all of clark county to shooting,and the range has only about 4 shooting postions that have the 100 yard range,the rest are all more less pistol type ranges.
Sad fact is there is nothing to come to Vegas for unless you like to drink or gamble,I have lived here all my life (50years) and I can tell you its not a shooter/hunter town,its anti-gun at best.

I'll be going in November. Never been, so seeing all the touristy stuff, casinos, shows, etc will be pretty cool. Going with the girlfriend so we won't be doing much shooting. If it was just me, I'd be out on a mountain in the desert with a ghille suit all day long trying to pick off any critter I see. Why? Cuz I can't do it here in suburbia.

Go early to Shelby of America at the race track, the tour is pretty good, on the other side of Vegas is the Dam, both of those are goodtimes, when you own FA weapons there no point in renting them, sorry.

See a show on the strip maybe but its expensive!
See the Dam ,yeah you can also see how fast we are running out of water while you are there.
If you want to see and hear a lot weapons fire ,go on down to Martin Luther King/and Lake Mead street,and can see and hear all the gunfire you want.LOL
Also for anyone planning on moving here,you will only get to hunt big game about once every 7-10 years,as there are hardly no tags avalible for the large but shriking population we have here.

Drink Jaeger shots with Rufilin in it on the rooftop of a casino and wake up to return Mike Tyson's tiger to him. Don't forget, there's a baby in the closet...
All joking aside. The Stratosphere top deck is pretty freaky. Mirage White tiger exhibit is pretty bad ass too. Rio World buffet is pretty awesome for it's low cost. Prime Rib at the Cortez room located in the Gold Coast casino is also an awesome value for kick ass meat. Clubbing at the Palms or Venetian if you're into the night scene. Wynn/Encore has a nice higher end place to have a meal. Oh, and the shopping outlets if you're looking for gear. Have fun!
