Perhaps he should consult a nutritionist to understand you can't live on rabbits, as you'd starve to death due to the lack of fat...smh. Straight protein is apparently worse for your liver than alcohol. Assuming 1 rabbit a day, If Nothing else is eaten for 8 days straight, there will be permanent liver damage. By day 13 death is inevitable with in 5 days. Supposedly a pretty painful way to go according to reports.

I also highly recommend reading the greatest book I ever read as a kid.... Northwest Passage by Kenneth Roberts.

Brilliantly researched historical fiction. Which means that he got the history dead nuts right. But put fictional characters in to tell the story. Arundel, Northwest Passage and Rabble in Arms are three of the best works of American Literature of the 20th century. All eminently readable.

I probably read Northwest Passage 10 times before I turned 12. Do you know how many hours I spent shooting at tossed pinecones with my Crossman (and later .22) trying to emulate the Rangers? And, yes, it paid off.

Something even bears understand. In good years they only eat the skin/brain/eggs of the fish they catch (that's where the fat is), throwing the carcass away. Only in lean years will they consume the whole carcass.
