What are your opinions on the APR G2 aka: Thompson Leh action vs the Bighorn Origin.....I'm pretty partial to the Origin with changeable bolt heads instead of bolt bodies but still, I have searched and searched but haven't seen much on the Thompson Leh actions.

I have a couple origins but no APRs so am a little biased, but it looks like it, the G2, has several enhancements over the hunter. Wire EDM for better tolerances, pinned rail, DLC coating, and a couple others. But even at 750 vs 825 for the origin, I would probably go with the origin. But the G2 does look like a nice upgrade to the hunter.

I have a bighorn (pre-zermatt) in a Beanland build and really like it. The problem with the origin right now is it's short action only, and I want long actions. Even for short action cartridges I'd still rather have the versatility of a long action. Anyways, I'm going to order a APR G2 before the pre-order pricing ends, at that price it's hard to pass up. Lets hope if there is a bunch of pre-orders they are able to provide the actions in a somewhat reasonable amount of time.

Ya I was wanting to built a 6.5 prc sometime in 2019 and if I can get a good deal on something I’d seriously consider getting it now but since there’s not much on the of the Thompson Leh actions I don’t want to purchase it without knowing.

The last time I had talked to Bighorn, an origin long action was being talked about.

I think a lot of new things to accommodate Hornady’s new cartridges will be out in full force for shot show. I talked to defiance as well and they said the tenicity will probably get a mag bolt, so it’s going to be a difficult decision between all actions for the 6.5 prc. For me I think the origin and Seekins precision are both on my radar for sure because of the changeable bolt faces without spending $250+ on a bolt body. If I can get a good action for cheap enough the Thompson Leh don’t look bad, just not much reviews on them for me to definitely jump for one.

wow awesome. They (APR) are building me a 300WM with an APR G2 action right now too. I think I probably have another month of waiting. Anxious to see your impressions of the G2.

Messed with my friend’s G2 and right out of the box it didn’t feel as smooth. After a bunch of cycles it started to get smoother. It’s not bad for the money..
Just note that first run Geissele Super 700’s will not work with the G2. You’ll need the most current build Super 700.

TL3 barrels are everywhere. You can get the recoil lug from hunts long range and use the tl3 barrels to shoulder on your origin. Or can always just use Savage small shank barrels with a nut.

I received mine a few months ago and just matted with a criterion barrel and nut. The action is smooth and I've cycled a bunch of rounds through it with the firing pin removed. Seems to work flawlessly if I run the bolt quickly. Its jammed up a few times when I've run the bolt really slow, but this could be do to my magazine setup.

Still trying to decide on a trigger. Was going to go with a super 700 but it seems people are having problems. Thinking of maybe going with a Bix'n Andy 2 Stage
