the door over ejection port will not close unless you push down the little plunger
I'm sure its not supposed to work like this
but how to fix?
opens ok when bolt cycled
just wont close without pushing plunger down first
any response's appreciated
not sure if this should be here or semi auto thread?

Umm...................you mean it won't close unless you push on the forward assist? That means the bolt is not closed (all the way.) Let the bolt slam home and it will probably work fine . If you look at the bolt you'll see it has a relief cut out for the door cam and it has to be fully indexed so the cam will fit into the slot. If not you have some minor interference that gets pushed out of the way when you push the forward assist. Could be a misaligned gas key, tube just a tad too long, wrong port door for your bolt cut out, dirty, etc.

the bolt has a relief cut out for the door cam
but it wont close unless you use something to push plunger down while closing door at same time -this cant be right
looks like either the little plunger on the door is to long -high
or the cutout on the receiver for it too low?
it opens passively when bolt comes back -no problems there -that seems right
but it don't seem like I should need a tool to depress plunger to close the door
I would guess it should close with just my fingers pushing it closed

The door should snap closed when you push it. It takes a little pressure to get it past the plunger. If it won't close with some pressure on the door, then something sounds out of whack.

I worked the plunger up& down 1001 or so times
now I can close the door with pressure from both thumbs
I guess its just a little tight & will loosen up with use
I'm gonna just shoot it a while & see
thanks for listening to my dumb noobie rant
