Here is an article from Defense Review which might have some of the history of the M24 that was lost on the old hide:

That was fast... i'm wondering which individual @$$hole or company bought up a lot of them to flip for later.

edit: fair game though, i hope those who are in need could get some, have notified some m24 friends who are aspiring/in works

I know of a one or 2 smiths who has a box of these 0 moa LA's still sealed
Brownells isn’t screwing people on price ether. 149.99$. New in box. Some people selling them want 600$. Good on Brownells for not getting stupid on the price

Can anyone tell me the size of the bolts that attach front sight base? I want to take off the front sight. Obviously I will need shorter bolts to fill in the holes. Does anyone have a source or size of bolts? Thanks

The Brownells are Long Action MARS rails 0 MOA. The real ones. Only 8 left

You want screws that sit flush with the bbl contour. Difficult to find. I have extended screw heads that will fit. Lmk if you need a couple.16041251450711494402380945491306.jpg

Remington Arms in Ilion, NY is closing. Wishing the best outcome for their employees!

I've spoken with various members on this forum. If anyone is interested in making an offer to Remington for their complete M24 inventory, tooling, testing rigs, etc., contact me. I'm located close to the plant. Looking for investor's to obtain remaining inventory.

Hey guys, came across this photo in the Company archives and thought it might be interesting to some folks.

No dates or names listed but based off a quick exam, it’s a bunch of SF snipers (5th and 19th SFG) deployed to Afghanistan, probably circa 2010ish+/- a year.

Of interesting note is the “non-typical” M24 In the upper right. At a quick glance I thought it might be an A2 but these to my knowledge were never fielded by SF in any capacity. On closer inspection the modifications include a drilled aftermarket check piece and suppressor of an unknown origin, probably OPS Inc. As far as I know this is the first time this photo has been in the wild.

Modified SWSs (Mostly optics, rails and DBM) in SF was/is a fairly common thing but documentation of this is sometimes sparse and cutting/treading of a barrel is a whole other level. 😆

I need some help putting together a deployment kit for me M24A2. I am not really looking for every exact item but more so to just fill in the empty spaces in my Pelican rifle case. The case i have is (472-PWC-M24A2 Rifle Case) that came pre-cut from the factory. Here is what I have so far:
Different things are beautiful to different people; for me, THIS is Mona Lisa, a 308 GTS, -------- (insert name of fav babe HERE) all rolled into one

Would someone on here be willing to give me an approximate value of a m24 collectors edition. It came already painted up (stock and scope). Scope is a fixed 10 power leupold. The bullet drop compensator is backwards from others from what I’ve seen. It came with a new sling and a small pelican case that’s full of replacement parts. I have the box that it shipped from Remington in.

@Bbeard,

Unlike the M40, I did not know there was a "collectors edition". What you have appears to be the real deal with some hard use on it.

When did Remington put out the "Collectors Edition"? Personally, if you have the real deal they are going for around $3k for just the rifle. The scope you have on there would run another $1500-$2K. If that is indeed a Leupold Mk. 3, and not some gimmick look-alike.

The scope was included from Remington. It’s real

Just checked and it looks like both my m24r boxes are marked collectors edition. As for the leupold, with regards the ccw turrets, leupold changed from cw to ccw around 95 or 96 that was obviously on the mk4 m3.

Most of the box variations said Collectors Edition on the bottom row. The only box label I have seen without that is the version labeled (Rifle Only) instead of "S.W.S.".

Would anyone happen to have a line on the Badger 306-84 DBM? Badger isn't going to make anymore now that Remington Defense is basically defunct. At least that's what CS at Badger told me. I knew Remington was bankrupt, but doesn't Remington Defense still have contracts to fulfill?

remington went bankrupt and rumor is that Remington defense is not coming back.

I think I will leave mine this way. Although, I have the 3.5-10x40 M3 Mk 4. The chances of finding the Ranger contract scope are probaly slim at best.

Just how many of these guns do you have. My thoughts are these are police guns and when painter the value diminishes.
these are army guns and with the return stocks the painted ones are worth more than the unpainted. There are so many unique stocks out there and what look like identical guns on paper can have greatly different levels of demand simply based on the character and paint.
