I would like to commission a 3D printer to make a battery cover for the Garmin 901 that utilizes the Kestrel HUD pic rail, swing arm mount. I have used a Kestrel HUD with a 5700 for a couple of years and it works well, but I have recently switched to the Garmin 901 for NRL Hunter matches and I would like to employ the 901 in the same manner I did the HUD for matches where I don't want the 901 on my wrist. The HUD swingarm is the sturdiest of its type But I have used on all the similar dope card mounts. Even better than the old hawk Hill dope card swingarm mount. Kestrel cells their picatinny swingarm as a replacement part for the HUD for $60. The idea would be to replace the standard 901 battery cover with a 3D printed version that is able to use the Kestrel HUD swingarm.
