AutoTrickler V4

Wouldn’t someone buying an autotrickler know what they are buying?
Of course they did, and if somebody values getting the V4 right away, for whatever reason, then to them they paid a fair price. Who am I to question what value they put on the various parts of that deal. I keep waiting for mine, and I'd be happy to kick in an extra few hundred bucks to get it tomorrow.

I’m hopefully less than a month away but if I was much longer I would pay a bit more too but not that much more. But hey, who am I to judge.

The inflated price.

Who knows if the sale was actually completed.

The description was very clear, no scale.
What's the lead time? 6 months or more.
$600 isn't that much money to some, maybe they just didn't want to wait?
Exactly, the buyer is buying two things. The Autotrickler and having it immediately. Each has a different subjective value to the buyer, and given that he was willing to pay that much for it, he is happy with the deal, and it is a fair price. A transaction isn't fair if you or I think it is, only if the two people involved in it think it is. That is exactly what a free market is.

Literally buyer got hosed and had no clue he was being hosed.

Yes. He thought he was buying the complete unit plus scale.

I can provide some clarity. This was my V4 that was sold. The sale was completed and the buyer knew he was buying only the V4 and was happy to be getting one. Just because you wouldn’t pay that doesn’t mean someone else isn’t motivated to for whatever reason. It was the only one someone who didn’t register in March could get immediately. I certainly didn’t think it would sell for that, but I figured by putting it up for auction I would let someone else determine what it was worth to them instead of asking for an inflated price here on the forum classifieds.

Well then congrats are in order. I'm glad it was completed.

I was going to chime in and say that I corresponded with the seller so I know he was real, and the listing was totally upfront about what was included. But, the seller himself posted. I’m not surprised at the bids. It would sell for that on the post exchange here to someone with more money than time.

I bought the autotrickler v4 on ebay, and I knew exactly what I was buying. It was worth it to me to pay double the price to not have to wait for it. I definitely didn't get hosed, unless I hosed myself. I honestly did not expect to pay that much, but I got caught up in the last second bid war. I really don't regret it one bit, and I am sure the seller does not either, which makes the deal a fair one :}

Congrats on the purchase. No doubt some people will be by to tell you that you did in fact get hosed, whether you know it or not. ;-)

I would love to see a more accurate shipping schedule.
I think my reservation was April 2nd, so haven't heard anything since I paid for my order.

Also April 2nd. Paid back in Sept, from the current schedule I'm guessing we will be shipping around the end of the month.

I’m torn on upgrading to the v4. Those who have, is it worthwhile in your opinion?

Also, Does anyone here have a v3 powder cup they’re not using and want to sell? I got the area 419 and don’t like it at all.

I guess it depends on how you would define worthwhile? I like mine. It is a little faster, not a lot faster in overall speed of throws. It is a little more accurate / consistent, once you figure out how to set the speeds and angle etc. Very tunable system, just have to spend some time with it. Easier set up and clean up. No more cables, and I broke a couple of those stupid things in 3 years of use. It is an all in one set up now, very clean. Worth it? I think so. But I also spend a lot of time in the shop and load for multiple rifles. I think each person needs to weigh that on their own merits. Competitor? Recreational long range stuff or serious shooter? This rig definitely saves time when it comes to throwing powder. And it is accurate.

In his original email to me he said my pre-order was between April 8 and June 8. That's nearly a two month shipping window.
He also said, in mine at least, that these were rough estimates and due to change. I think he's done a pretty good job at keeping information current and getting trickles out the door, IMO. I just got my AMP press and the only thing that delayed them for a while was a $1 magnet they were waiting on. Pretty rough out there with parts and such.

I still have nothing, March 14 reservation.
March 15 reservation, paid and received before Christmas, I’d check your emails again, if he has to chase up every oddity we’d never get any built, so I wouldn’t expect updates, just make sure your end is working correctly and contact them if it’s too far off as emails can be unreliable little toads I’ve found 😵‍💫

or ADAM - how I found mine
My order date was March 18th but I decided to check my junk box just in case. Thank god I did, it turns out that I have inherited a few large sums of money from several African dictators and to boot there are plenty of local women ready to sleep with me. I just sent several of my African benefactors my bank information so when the funds roll in……auto trickler v4s for everyone on me.

I still have nothing, March 14 reservation.
March 14 as well. Received invoice for balance and paid a few days before Xmas. E-mail confirmed payment and stated they’d let me know when it shipped. Waiting on e-mail that it has shipped. The holidays tend to slow things down so I expect it’ll be shipped soon.

Yea, I’ve checked the email many times — there is nothing

I’ll give it to the end of the week and reach out to Adam if nothing comes — hate to bother him but something seems strange if March 15 reservations have been shipped and delivered back in December — confirmed above and also in the schedule update

almost seems like March 14 was skipped

Mine is from CE with the scale - not sure if that’s different.

Manual says it supports grains or grams. It's just a number target, so it probably doesn't care.

One trick that may be helpful is to set the target weight .005 high if you don't want the .02 low throws.
So, 40.005 will never stop at 39.98
Most will end up at 40.00 but still ramps down around same weights to fill with slow tube with the buffer to climb up.

Hi folks.
I was asked to join in this thread.

I make the covers for the V4 as well as a lot of other reloading equipment.

I provide the covers that Area419, Henderson Precision, etc., sells.

My main business is covers for ham radio and Hi-Fi equipment.

I am a shooter, and loader so it was easy to add reloading equipment to my line up.

I use only US sourced materials and make each cover myself.

Please PM me if you are interested in a cover.

Again...I make these covers using high quality US made materials so if you are looking for Chinese quality and prices, I'm not your guy.

Take care, Stan

I bought one of Stan’s covers recently. They are great. Fantastic service and super quick turnaround.

Stan - nice seeing you here.

Anybody get their V4 but the 3 bumpers for the housing to set on weren’t included? Disappointed I unassembled my V3 and boxed it up only to find out my V4 is missing parts.

Is it more accurate than the v3?

For the guys that have their V4s, are you using any of the Area419 V3 upgrades like the cup, extended straw or tray?
No. Maybe with the other product news, 419 will come out with updated parts for the v4. I just want a new base with built in stop in the correct location, and perhaps replacements for the plastic bits such as the funnel. The little plastic bit to stop the cup that comes with the v4 seems like a joke.

Yes, it is more consistent. Out of 100+ throws at 34.5 only a few were short most were 34.5 with maybe 20 at 34.52. I double weighed them on a higher resolution scale too. Done this twice now. It is all about setting scale up properly in controlled environment. More tunable than V3 so it is more consistent. Now that I have it dialed in, it is running throws about every 10 to 12 seconds. So not really faster, maybe a little but definitely more consistent.

I was thinking the same thing, if the supertrickler is not going to work out for A419, maybe they will turn out some billet stuff for the A4..

Was this announced somewhere? Not on facebook so dont follow the supertrickler thread. It's still on the Area419 site.
Yes, to include an email. It's official.

Supertrickler and Area419 cut ties, officially.

That's what we're referring to. Since that partnership ended, there's no reason (if it makes sense financially) that Area419 can't make aftermarket parts for the Autotrickler, now.

Just curious, what did the email say? I love Area419 and have a Zero Press, tons of PRS related stuff and all of the V3 goodies as well as a vudoo build I bought from them but they are taking forever to get new things to market. Im still waiting on the shellholder set they announced more than 10 months ago. Not sure how quickly they are going to bust out parts for the V4. That being said, a more forward platen would be great - love mine now which is coming off hopefully in the next two three weeks (I think my V4 should be shipping in the next two weeks according to the latest schedule)/
