im curious if some of the mounts like nightforce with the integral recoil lug will work or not.
Your B14R (just like the centerfire b14’s) is an R700 clone, thus the triggertechs will most definitely work. You can order it without the bolt release. If you happen to find a deal on one with the bolt release, just remove it. They work, I’ve done it on three of them.
I bought the TriggerTech BD for the Bergara, I was referring to them not making anything for the Tikka, CZ, Ruger or anything else other than the R700 and clones and the AR. Therefor, they saved me money.
Somewhere along the line I recall reading or hearing that when using a TriggerTech in a Bergara, that one should not expect the full amount of pull weight adjustment. I seem to recall that this comment was made with regard to trying to adjust the trigger down to its lowest setting. I also seem to recall that the limitation in adjustment had to do with the strength of the firing pin spring in the B14. Not sure that there's any truth to it, or that it holds true for the B14R. I'd be curious to know though.

I like it pretty good, didn't need an extended one. But they don't make on in 30 MOA. If you use Burris Signature rings you can get another 20 MOA with the inserts. The rail is well made with no sharp edges and meets Picatinny as well as NATO spec. Price isn't bad either.

Edit. Read KODs other post/thread on the B14R. He has a TriggerTech Diamond coming, hence his response. Can't wait to hear/read his comments on the function of the TriggerTech in the B14R.

I'm fairly sure that actions are made to be dry torqued as every time I have seen something that was to be oiled prior to torquing it was specified that it was a wet torque.
The other side is I'm not sure how close they are running to yield, but if I remember correctly a lower torque value wet puts more pressure on the threads then a higher value dry and if they are running near yield this could stretch the threads on the action bolts out of spec.

Good Lord! I've just finished reading through this string and realized toward the end how many people were condemning Bergara for all sorts of vile things when they hadn't even seen the gun because it was not even on the market yet. Oh well, stranger things have happened. Through it all, however, Mike Bush has been the picture of a gentleman. Hats off to ya, Mr Bush. Says a lot about you.
As far as I know it is the same stock. I originally thought of putting it in a bravo or something, but after using this stock I really like it. I added a custom foam cheek pad and it makes the stock feel really nice.

I’m a pretty big cheapskate. I pretty much never buy anything if I can make it myself. I have a 3D printer that I use to make most of my upgrades and it also came with a laser attachment. I measured the cheek rest and created a CAD model and then used the laser to cut it out and engrave it. The laser is pretty weak, but it will cut foam like this. Then I used spray-on adhesive to stick it to the gun. I have done this for this rifle, my KRG Bravo, and my MDT ACC. It is surprising how much better the gun feels with a cheek pad.
That’s true. It would be nice to have an identical stock for both rifles. That’s what I wanted to do too so it would match my PRS rifle for training, but I don’t want to pay for another MDT ACC since they are so expensive. I guess I could put it in my current ACC for training and swap back and forth between actions, but it would be nice to just have it in its own stock/chassis all the time.Looks great man. Yeah, I hear ya. Getting another ACC is a decent investment and switching it back and forth is a bit of a hassle. There's nothing wrong with shooting it as is.

Finally got my rifle this past week. I threw some Harris bipods and my Athlon Midas Tac 6-24x50 on it since it focuses from 10 yards to infinity and started plinking around with some cheap CCI Blazer ammo. So far I really really like this rifle.
The bolt feels much better and smoother than the other rimfire bolts I have played with in the past and I think the bolt has even gotten a little smoother now that I’ve shot a few hundred rounds through it. One strange thing I noticed is that the bolt lift is actually LIGHTER once the firing pin has been released, which is nice. Typically, the bolt lift on rifles is HEAVIER once the firing pin has been released because the bolt lift is what cocks the trigger.
This is the first 22 I’ve had with a match chamber. Due to lack of experience with match chambers I didn’t realize that the bolt actually pushes the round into the rifling. Since this is supposed to be better for accuracy I’m ok with it, but it does make the bolt closure feel pretty heavy since you are forcing the round into the barrel as it closes, which can cause you to accidentally shift the rifle when shooting off positional barricades where you aren’t as stable.
A lot of people have been asking about controlled round feeding on the 22s so I decided to check it out for myself. As the case leaves the fee lips of the mag, it pops up into the bolt face and is then directed into the chamber. However, as the round enters the chamber, it makes contact with the top of the chamber, so it still has the potential to be slightly deformed before going into the rifling. I may try to add a video if I can figure it out. (It’s slow-mo, so it’s pretty long)
I originally planned on replacing the trigger right away, but after using the factory trigger during break in, I’ve decided to just leave it alone for now. Bergara claims the lightest weight the trigger can be set to is right around 2.5lbs, which is what mine was set at out of the box, so I never bothered to adjust anything. I would prefer a trigger weight around 14-16 ounces like my TriggerTech Diamonds in my match rifles, but since this trigger breaks very cleanly and doesn’t have any creep, it feels pretty dang good even though it’s 2.5 times heavier than my other triggers. I may switch it out further down the road, but it really is a pretty dang good trigger.
Another thing I planned on doing right away was to replace the stock with a KRG Bravo or an MDT ACC chassis to match my two PRS rifles. Unfortunately the ACC chassis are really expensive so I can’t afford to buy another one. After using the HMR stock on the bergara I’ve decided to stick with it for the time being. It is a really nice stock and has plenty of adjustability for me. I also like that it is heavier than the KRG Bravo which is nice for training purposes since my ACC is pretty heavy. The vertical grip is comfortable and has a perfect shelf for thumb placement by the tang. Unfortunately, there isn’t very much room between the bipods and the magwell for a bag. The bipods and mag tend to interfere with the bag (game changer, tactical udder, etc.) when shooting off barricades. I may end up adding an Area 419 Arca rail or something similar to the forend to get more room for a bag and to allow me to use my Ckye pod and my Warne Skyline bipod, both of which attach to Arca rails.
The one gripe I have with this stock (and most other stocks/chassis for that matter) is that the cheek piece is very hard and gets uncomfortable after a lot of shooting. Since I am a Cheapskate, I used the little laser attachment for my 3D printer and designed a pad that fits the HMR’s cheek piece and added a logo to it while I was at it. It is surprising how big of a difference a little foam makes. It makes the rifle feel much nicer and it’s more comfortable when doing high volume shooting.
Lastly, I did notice that the safety lever is really stiff when you try to put it on “safe” with the bolt closed. It actually kind of hurts your thumb. And yet, it switches to “fire” very smoothly and easily. I think the lever may be interfering with something when the bolt is closed, because if you operate the safety lever with the bolt open, it moves smoothly and easily in both directions. This may just be an issue with my specific rifle. It would be interesting to know if this is an issue for other people too.
Sorry I don’t have any pictures of groups at 50 and 100 yards right now. I’m still waiting on some higher end ammo to show up this coming week. I did, however try a few types of ammo that were available off the shelf at my local sporting goods store. So far, I have tried CCI Blazer, CCI Standard Velocity, Norma Match, Norma Subsonic, and RWS Target Rifle. Surprisingly, they seems to all shoot very very similar. If I had to choose, I would say the super cheap CCI Blazer and the RWS Target Rifle seem to be slightly better than the others. I actually took the Blazers out to 400 yards, but obviously the group size at that range isn’t so hot. I needed to dial 20.8 MILS but maxed out at 20 MILS with a 30 MOA Seekins Precision base and my Athlon Midas Tac 6-24x50, which has 25 MILS of overall travel. I kind of wish I had bought the 40 MOA EGW base instead, but I don’t think I’ll shoot 400 yards very often, so it shouldn’t matter. I plan on testing some SK, Lapua, and Eley ammo soon as well to see what the higher end ammo can do.
I apologize if this post is way too long, but I figured some of you may appreciate it. When I was looking for reviews earlier on I could find any in-depth reviews, so I just had to find out for my self. I will try to post up some accuracy tests soon too, since that is was people tend to want to see most.

I appreciate the post and review. Your finding were a lot like mine. The RWS Target Rifle also shot good in mine. Personally I like the HMR stock on the B-14R better than the KRG Bravo. I do find it strange that the two stocks are so similar but one feels noticeably better than the other.
Trigger wise I seem to have gotten one of the heavy ones. After trying the TT Diamond "and failing" I now have the Elftmann Tactical 700 SE coming.
I believe the feeding you describe is designed for the bullet to ride up top of the chamber. Just to reassure I am telling the truth I just went and loaded 5 rounds slowly in the B-14R and there was no bullet shaving. Loaded 5 and worked the bolt fast and no bullet shaving. I believe it would have happened on the slow feed. Looking forward to seeing photos and if you get the video figured out let me know.

i have found the same thing with my b14r on the feeding, have not fired it yet but the round pops up into the bolt and gently graise the top of the chamber with no scoring or marks. I have looked far and wide to compare the feeding to a vudoo to little avail so at the next match I’ll ask to inspect one of the attending vudoo. My safety is smooth both ways and trigger feels like about 1.5lb but I cannot confirm because I don’t have a scale. Bolt travel is smooth without any side loading but it’s a bit sticky when you horse it unlike my b14 6.5cm which is glass smooth no matter what you do. I chuck this up to needing a few hundred rounds thru it to break in. I have a 30moa EWG rail and a vortex pst gen 2 on top I think it will be enough to get to 400 but we shall see. looking at the fit of the stock and the pillar I will be bedding the action there is lots of room to be filled. Overall I’m excited to get some range time as soon as weather and work cooperate. Will be testing cci sv, center x, Polar biathlon, sk flatnose match, SK Long Range and sk standard plus. Thank you all for posting these reviews and all intel, I’ve read them intently and look forward each day for new findings.
Ok guys, I had to upload the video to YouTube through iMovie to get it into slow motion. It was pretty stupid, but I got it. The reason the round grazes the top of the chamber is because the round in the mag beneath it is pushing it upwards. It doesn’t smash into the edge or anything like that, but it does rub. I’ve noticed the edge of the chamber shaves of a tiny bit of some of the rounds but not all. It is very very minimal, but I did notice tiny shavings once in a while. I don’t think you can see any shavings in the video. Here’s the video:

Nice vid. How did the last round pop back in? Also, yours feeds exactly like mine but I haven't witnessed any lead shavings. I signed up on Full30 to upload videos but still haven't gotten approval.
The rifle was laying on its side for the video, so it just fell back in. What is Full30?

finally got some range time today. I was in a bit of a rush to beat the winds that usually roll in around 10am. First I am very impressed so far with the b14r it’s been a a blast to shoot very comfortable. Coming off an rprr and winning a couple nrl base class matches this is a game changer. Ok so more on today. All shooting done off tailgate of my truck with bipod and tear bag.
I started with the usual of break in and zero rifle. I used 100rds cci sv. I was able to stack the first 50 rounds inside a quarter sized group at 50yd. Ran clp and bore snake before firing 20 fowling rounds of center x before group testing. Groups as follow: upper left SK Long Range, upper right: SK Flatnose match, center: sk plus, low left: polar biathlon, low right: center x.

Skfnm: 1102fps ES 35
Sk plus: 1086fps ES 24
Cci sv: 1060fps ES 35
Polar bi: 1125fps ES 21 SD 6

based on the performance of polar bi abd center x I decided to test them at a hasty 160yd 10 shot string. I was pretty satisfied with the performance on this first outting. Ordered a brick of center x to see if this rifle is lot sensitive and use in this months nrl match. I did stretch it’s legs with the remaining boxes of sk long range and flat nose match at 150, 170,250, 320yds and I’ll just say even with the not as best performing ammo but still decent, I’ll take 8/10 hits all the way becoming boringly accurate. All targets are 2.5moa for reference.

i've already got 2 of those, Vudoo= king of the mountain. I wanted something for the granddaughters to play around with so Decided to drop down a level and save a little money. Hopefully i can find a rail by this weekend so they can get it broke inYes, tell me about it... Really terrible deal !

just saw that, did u see how the bottom of that chassis was cut out? not impressed. the 22 market has exploded it seems like . Just saw the Ultimatum Deuce . Everybody's getting in on the action it seems. how about this , could b a game changer
Bergara not unlike a lot of other companies in the rush to get their product to market under estimates the demand. So, the 1 or 200 that were produced are sold out immediately and they don't have the parts to build enough to satisfy the demand. If they ever get the product into the hands of the shooters, then and only then will the real race be on. The rifle has a lot going for it, mainly the quality barrel, controlled feed and the receiver foot print. I have never seen B14R, just like most other people.
Rimfire benchrest is not on fire like shooting steel is. The size of the steel targets reduces the need for pinpoint accuracy, so there are more than a few guns that can compete and win.
Top shooters are bought and sold, so what they are shooting and winning with is immaterial, check the results in most local shoots. That big shoots bring in the patches from every corner of the country, those guys could win with an old Winchester pump rifle.

What type of foam/rubber did you use and where did you get it? I want to install a pad like this but don’t want the material to be too soft. If it were too soft, I think it might interfere with getting a consistent head/cheek position.
