I just got a few hundred of these and I opened the box to take a peek at them and they seem to have some imperfections on the nose, kind of like the jacket didn't get coated all the way? I just want to make sure if this is normal? I don't recall seeing this on any other brand bullets.

Here is a picture of what I am talking about. I opened two boxes and they all have this same kind of marking.

So this is normal? I have never seen this on any other brand bullets before. I would think with Berger's reputation these things would be perfect?

Not only the reputation, but the price price you paid for them. I'd email them a pic, or call. QC is deffinetly lacking. I've shot thousands of Berger's and never seen one like that.
I'd get them replaced, I wouldn't shoot them.

It's bad enough their tips are a train wreck, though it doesn't effect the accuracy. I'd just never needed a comparator till I started using berger's.

It's not normal for any of my Bergers; they're all so smooth and uniform, they look like jewelry. I think milo 2.0 is right on--call or email Berger and get replacements.

Agreed. Never seen any look anything like that. What lot# is it so i will know to steer clear....
I've noticed that Bergers lot to lot variances are just flat out terrible. For instance... I had 300 Berger 140 vlds for my 6.5 creedmor. They measured 1.419" average. I shot all those and bought a new 500 bullet lot. They average 1.388". 31/1000's shorter. It's kind of a good thing because my ballistic programs tell me the shorter the better with an 8.5 twist.
But it's not just 6.5... It's all of them. It's like either buy 500 to 1,000 and hope for a good lot. Or buy 100 at a time and get pissed bc when you run out the next lot has to be tweaked
Don't get me wrong. I love Berger bullets. All I really shoot. Just gets a little annoying.

I just recently sorted 600 185 gr VLD's by base to ogive and with the exception of a very small number, they were all within .003. The tips are a little ragged but a meplat trimmer and pointing die clean them up nicely.
