I used the long blade for a carpet knife. Be careful it"s sharp on both sides

I just use a really sharp knife with a blade a bit longer than the foam is thick....works like a charm.

I took one of the extendable box cutters and with a blow torch heated the blade and cut small sections that way. Worked like a charm!

Havalon folding knife with a #60 blade, trace out shapes with a paint pen and cut outside the lines. Buy a couple dozen extra blades and you can get a lot of foam cut out. Or you can not worry about having compartments for everything and get a soft case that fits into the gun box.

the hot knife sounds like a pain but is well worth it. The other knives are fast but aren't as clean.
If you need it now a razor knife will work but if you want a professional look, hot knife is the way to go. Most parts can be found at your local hardware store or radio shack...maybe already have stuff around the house.
look around your house for a old dc transformer...12 to 25watts is good enough for that stuff
