Re: best way to freshen crown on mod 70 target
The gun was in storage 40+ years and had a little surface rust, owner had her blued and the smith blued face, I took 400 wet dry and buffed the face white , a q tip seems to catch a small bur that my 57 yr old eyes cannot detect. This gun does not shoot quiet as well as a '55 model I have or is a little more picky vis ammo seems to like the 180 gr best, bore is beautiful , rifling is strong. Im out of 06 match ammo and was testing with fed, win and hornady deer loads I had on hand. I usually sight in with cheap and use match to see what a gun will do. Im out of the 06, 168 and 175 gr fed match fodder.
