I’ve searched and done some research on borescopes. Seems a lot of folks have really disappointing experiences with the ones that connect to a phone or computer. And at least some seem to think you need a progressive lens to do any good. I want a borescope small enough for .177 airgun rifles. An airgun forum I frequent seems to recommend, at a minimum, a $1,600 Hawke progressive lens dedicated borescope system. I just thought I’d ask if there are any less pricey options that I shouldn’t overlook. Thanks.

have a romeker laser bore sight made in china a total p.o.s but at 40 dollars who cares that its cheap , at 100 yards it gets me within a few clicks of centered and on a bad day , it drives the cat crazy which makes it money well spent .

I think the op was looking for borescopes not boresights. I’m interested in a borescope as well. Is there anything worth it for less than say $500?

I've got the Lyman Borecam which is an electronic borescope, it doesn't have precision optics like the Hawkeye and your looking at the image on the screen of the unit so it isn't 4K resolution and the screen is small but for inspecting rifle bores it is useable and you can take pictures of your bore and save to a micro SD card. At Brownells it only costs around $240.

However, I looked up the Lyman website and it says it only fits down to 20 caliber so it won't work with a .177 airgun
