Brass remains in chamber, bolt locks back. Am I over gassed?

Follow up:

I sent Wilson the full upper, just got a call that they honed and polished the chamber, and the upper now fires and ejects without issue. The BCG works perfectly with the barrel, so apparently head space isn't an issue and we can conclude that toolcraft BCGs pair well with Wilson combat barrels.

I assume honed and reamed are synonymous terms, right? Anyway thank you all for the insights and feedback, and I'll report back again once I get the upper in my hands send some rounds down range with her.

No.

Reaming is the initial creation of the chamber in the barrel.

Honing is an abrasive, precision grinding via stone or grinding wheel.

Polishing is a fine smoothing of anything left by the honing.

It works! It fires, ejects, cycles. Manual and semi auto, what can't it do! It can even core a apple! Kudos to Wilson combat for standing by their product - she's a real beauty.

Side note: I'm slightly under gassed, add I did get the occasional double feed, but I'm confident that will be fully resolved with a slight gas block adjustment.
Dude. This has been a gold mine of info. I have a Wilson 16” with JP enhanced bolt and having the exact same issue with S&B ammo. It sucks because it’s a laser beam when it works.
I just got a JP AGB. will try to tune. If not I’ll do what you did and send it in.

Thanks again!

Glad it all worked out for you and that you followed up on your posts to resolution. Too many times guys just leave us hanging with a cliffhanger, lol.

I still wonder if they gave the barrel more freebore on top of honing/polishing.

Assume they would have told you so guesss not.

I recently had to send my upper back for an ar10 65cm I had done to get more freebore.

Zero issues with my AI ATX…yes I know apple 🍎 to orange 🍊, but after developing loads on the AI I don’t have any interest in the gasser, but I do need to get back to it now after sending it back to get that done. Probably just use 130 gr TGKs

FWIW... every S&B 140gr FMJ round I have fired has had a rather blunt ogive.

So blunt that it wouldn't surprise me if the barrel has a short throat, the the same blunt tipped bullet is getting jammed into the lands.

Try chambering a sleeker bullet , with black permanent marker covering the entire bullet... looking for marks from the lands.
