It's too bad that the "good folks" don't ever seem to get that through their skulls and just go along with "just follow orders" and "just doing their duty".
I personally hold that those who carry out oppression and evil orders and things are more morally culpable than those giving the orders.
Without a bunch of "just following orders" and "just obeying the law" and "just doing our duty" Hitler would have just been some crazy raving failed painter...
Or take a look at the covid insanity and the brutal oppression and violence and thuggery employed by the "uniform hangers" against anyone marginally thinking for themselves...
Perhaps maybe after this next turning of history, we can hold each uniform hanger who participated personally accountable for their actions and punish each and every one of them and take a stand that "just following orders" will never again be a defense.
Oh who am I kidding, it seems to be embedded in folks to excuse evil done "because I was told to do it".
