Quiet, well mannered, reasonably clean ex-professional, Appalchian-American descent, seeks quiet, decent place with like-minded people to heal and help others with what time he has left in this life. Millenials be advised character may be described as “crusty”, if Millenials even use that word to describe character. Relocation necessary; can’t tolerate current area.

Ideally would involve a cot in a warm shop where firearms can be kept and maintained, as well as a close area to shoot. Ideally an area to set up and maintain the mill/lathe bought last year but still in crates due to “life issues”. Also proximity to a facility where assistance can be offered for counseling, tutoring, and
any help to those who need it, especially chronic pain patients.

Quiet, self-sustaining, may disappear for extended periods into room or outdoors to talk with God about any Purpose he may have for me. Must be OK around Boston Terriers with halitosis and a Border Collie that jumps up at every car pulling in the driveway thinking it’s her Mama who has been away for the last month. Also ask that nobody touches the wooden vase with the pretty lady’s picture beside it. Also occasionally drinks a little moonshine (legal) and plays clawhammer banjo during the rare(r) light(er) moods.

Related: house in Charlotteshelle, VA, up for lease or purchase.

Been looking at properties until eyes cross, but don’t want the possibility that I’ll end up next to people that will crush what little flame of spirit still burning inside me. Trailer loaded, pickup fueled, just need destination. Please respond via PM.

Zen, you might need to float a bit before you re-root. Have you ever read Travels With Charley, by John Steinbeck, or Blue Highways, by William Least Heat Moon? The hum of the tires can be quite therapeutic.

I might suggest you don't settle down, grab a pickup, a trailer and load up your dogs and spend a few months to a year driving around the country & seeing how much beauty there is in places where the people are scarce. Add another big dog if you need and enjoy being away from people.

The above suggestions are good, but I will put forth that someone needing/utilizing some-sort of "ranch hand" could/would be both therapeutic for yourself, and surprisingly beneficial to both sides.

Some of ya'll will know of what I speak.

Good to see you on the boards man.

I agree with the others. Just load up and go for a drive. You will find a place you like and then can uproot and move.

Your welcome here any time if you need a reloading press, shower, grub, bed, a buddy, or anything else.

Man's search for meaning. It was a decent book. Its the title to your new journey.
