I just unboxed a new 5-25 Burris xtr2. Mounted on a 6.5 creed and went out for a trial run this afternoon. When I set the scope to be parallax free the image is quite a bit out of focus. I focused the ocular focus on the reticle multiple times to double check myself. If I bring the image into focus I have a large amount of parallax error. This is my first Burris. I have Premiers, Schmidt, Nightforce. Am I missing something? Has anybody else experienced this problem with a Burris XTR2. I realize this is a budget scope, but as mine sits now I would consider it unusable.

99% it's because of diopter, but it's possible yours could have an issue of you re experienced in setting diopter the right way (blue sky/no clouds/infinity parallax, etc) Just in case: https://www.snipershide.com/shootin...rifle-scope-a-simple-psa-on-diopters.6252841/
Mine was/is a bit touchy on image vs target focus, but parallax is dialed out and stays out. The image clarity/focus is (on mine) getting head to correct spot on lens; it does want to bounce in/out of focus a bit if I'm looking off center.

Yes that is the way I set the diopter. I am going to try today and see if I have different results. Thanks for the response. I was reading that the Burris is tricky to get perfectly behind on the eyebox. I was like always kinda rushed yesterday. Hopefully today I'll have a little more time. Thanks
I will call Burris. I just wanted to check here to make sure I wasn't missing something. I also want to give it another go before I bother someone at Burris. In case I had a brain fart yesterday.
