Ordered the 3.3-18 and I have a question. I know from reading the turrets are stiff but are they identical to the XTR II? I have an XTR II and holy shit..
My XTR3 is "stiffer" than my XTR2...

I had an LHT but sold it and am sticking with the XTR3 because of the SCR2 reticle (love how thin it is, my young eyes agree with it) and great FOV. Used the XTR3 3-18 on my NRL hunt gun and it tracked perfectly. Had a great time shooting with it in the mason valley match
Mine is similar, I sent mine back to Burris to see if they can lighten it up a bit, will let you know once I get it back...I am really liking this scope but I can’t deal with the knurled knobs anymore. The elevation turret is manageable but the zoom ring is too much. I bit the bullet and ordered a throw lever.
I'm interested in hearing how it is when it returns and how long the whole process takes. My mag ring on the 5.5-30 is also extremely stiff. I ended up buying a throw lever, and while it helps, I'm still considering sending it back to Burris for adjustment.Mine is similar, I sent mine back to Burris to see if they can lighten it up a bit, will let you know once I get it back...
You're going to love it. I finally got some clean time to hit the range today and sight in my 3.3-18 XTR3 I put on my rimfire. The 3.3-18 I ordered is finally shipping. I’ll follow up on how the everything turns.

New illum model? You're going to love it. I finally got some clean time to hit the range today and sight in my 3.3-18 XTR3 I put on my rimfire.
Clean glass, and love the diet they put the reticle on. Really a clean and easy to navigate picture box.

Do you have a rough idea when the illuminated models will be launching?I have a large order in for these. I don't really like preorders so I upgraded all of my preorders from the XTR III to Pros for a fee. So all of mine are up for grabs and I'll post then in the PX the second I get confirmation from Burris that my order is en route to me from Colorado. Price is going to be MAP shipped. I pay shipping and taxes so that way I can abide by MAP but still give yall a deal.
Translation.....you'll see them round about SeptemberI was told the goal to start shipping illum was mid April. So likely we will receive early may.
that would be best case i assume if ww3 no start.

DT

Comparing the XTR III to my other scope (ATACR) is night and day. So yeah.. I’m bitching.Rimfire matches are a great way to break in the turrets.

Ps- since it’s 2022, I apologize to those who like stiff turrets. I did not mean to offend you by not liking them.
THANK YOU. Just picked one up. You sir are a credit to society.I don't know if anyone has noticed Burris has the mil race dial in stock.

Same. Thanks for the heads up! Much appreciated.THANK YOU. Just picked one up. You sir are a credit to society.
I received one not long ago and no. None on my 3.3-18. Any minute turn is actually doing something. There’s no slop.I haven't read through this entire thread yet. Sorry if this has been answered already.
Is there a perceptible amount of backlash in the parallax adjustment knob (in the 3.3-18 and the 5.5-30)?
Absolutely none in any of mine either.I haven't read through this entire thread yet. Sorry if this has been answered already.

So Burris did nothing to help free up the magnification resistance but simply had a "quality tech" confirm the resistance is "normal"."The feel of the power ring and PA knob are normal, had confirmation from a quality tech."

Thanks to you both (for answering my parallax slop question).Absolutely none in any of mine either.
Someone previously mentioned "dragon scales" and I agree, man these things dig in, glad they redesigned for the XTR Pro.To all the people bitchin' about the "aggressive" texturing on the turrets and mag ring...
You're right.
Great for gloves, but bare hands, they will chew up skin and flesh in short order.
That said, the turrets on the new one I played with are not tight at all. Though the mag ring is fairly tight, it's not unacceptable with a throw lever on it and may loosen up in time.
Glass seems excellent for the $ during the short time I peeked through it.
Yeah, honestly I thought to myself that the people whining about the aggressive texturing were soft keyboard warriors who spent more time molesting their rifles in their basement than actually shooting them.Someone previously mentioned "dragon scales" and I agree, man these things dig in, glad they redesigned for the XTR Pro.
