More than anything this tells me the illuminated XTR III 3.3-18 should be available soon, hopefully prices won't be too far off from non-illuminatedA screaming good deal from Tyler Kemp..

The non-illuminated Comp version is being discontinued. There are some changes coming to the XTR3 that are going to make it a very strong choice at its price point.
I hope they thickened it up a reasonable bit. They just don't have the space to make them all..
Edit; What I'm getting in feedback on the reticle thickness, (and I've asked several people) is that the new one isn't "thicker" per se. It was described to me as being X amount of microns thicker, which didn't jibe with me, but it was clear it was thickened up in some manner to accommodate illumination. It should be more visible due to this. But this reticle at a glance is by no means thick.
On the previously posted X-ring video, Mr X-ring says it is the pro model.I read somewhere the new model was called the XTR pro? Either way looks nice for that price range, and they're 5 min from my house lol
Magnification ringis that the parallax?
I just want to see the "Buy It Now" button... and maybe a 30% off for 2 button next to it![]()
From the Burris FB page..
Fantastic!A custom made to fit aluminum magnification throw lever is included with every optic.
This. Is there any center dot reticles?@Birddog6424 Can you say if there are new/additional reticle options (maybe this has already been asked??).
So there have been tweaks to the glass quality? You were always impressed so I imagine that comment reflects new glass.Yes, the news dropped at Burris yesterday. There's some long faces.
I know of one well-known, -respected reviewer who has already seen the optic, but I believe he hasn't had the optic in hand for a full review. I believe he has already been sent a production model, or will be very soon. I dont have all of those details.
I've had mine in hand for close to two weeks now. I've had it at the range 3 times now side by side in various blustery conditions to a ATACR 7-35, a K525i, a ZCO 4-20, and a Cronus BTR. I'll just say its impressive.
My first matches will be a PRS Rimfire on the 15th, and PRS centerfire on the 22nd.
Are you going to be shooting the Leupold steel classic? I’m thinking of selling my Minox to outfit my rimfire and would like to compare it. Really like my xtr3 especially the reticle thickness and design. My first matches will be a PRS Rimfire on the 15th, and PRS centerfire on the 22nd.
Hopefully just the tremor. Going to a thicker reticle so it's easier to see and changing to a smaller dot that is harder to see counteracts each otherSo does the .25 mil reticle have the floating center dot or just the Tremor?
This makes me extremely happyThe three reticles are the regular SCR2, the SCR2 in quarter mil, and the Tremor 5.
The SCR2 uses a small floating cross, not a dot. So its the Tremor 5 that has the floating dot.
Pics or never happened.....The three reticles are the regular SCR2, the SCR2 in quarter mil, and the Tremor 5.

Oh..... it happened...
Obviously don't know what all the changes are but if the XTR3 has been labeled as the scope to beat under 2k.I've heard some MSRP and MAP numbers. They were still a little loose goosy. Hopefully they'll have settled on a number by Thursday.
I do wonder if the $3k MAP of the GIII Razor will have an influence.
The dealer is right... and he's not..
I'm ready for this to get out in the open so we can talk about this stuff. There's a lot going on..
Are the XTR 2's being revamped as well?
Are you getting both new XTR3's and the razor G3? I'd like to see them compared.Margins for optics manufacturers has always been insane.
If that is the case what does the XTR3 compare against?Burris is dropping a new optic tomorrow that will be a better comparison to the G3
Hope the costs isn't going to be giraffe pussy like the G3.Burris is dropping a new optic tomorrow that will be a better comparison to the G3
Blame the consumers who don't know the difference between warranty and end-user abuse. Companies have to work in a scope's replacement cost into the initial priceEither there's waaayyy too much margin in this industry, or it's being run by idiots.

Mil or MOA?I have some 3.3-18x SCR2 XTRIII that I will sell bare scopes for $1200. They have excellent glass at that price.
Doesn't even have to be illuminated, just a thicker reticle IMO.Nothing else interests me other than the 3-18 being illuminated. I think that scope with illumination is the LR hunting scope to buy. Will be looking into this for the future.
Here we go!!
I love huge turrets. If there's anything I wasn't in love with for the XTR III it was that the turrets seemed smallish to me.2 things;
- That turret looks bloody huge.
-Removing the turret just to write on it is a very subtle flex.....
Doesn't even have to be illuminated, just a thicker reticle IMO.
So the glass is imporved in the XTR Pro it seems?
I hope they clear all this up in the offical launch as I have no idea what is happening with/to this XTR 3 line.
