Rifle Scopes Bushnell DMRII.....Will I Regret It? OR?

I quickly sold my Bushnell DMRII. I could not stand the chromatic aberration that this scope dispays. I never noticed CA in any other scope and I have owned plenty of them.

I have owned a couple XRSII and they are much better. I have not purchased a DMRII pro yet, but when Bushnell offers them with illumination I will probably end up with a couple as I think the reticle thickness and magnification range are perfect for me.

The LRTSI are very good as well. Much much better than the DMII although the eyebox is a little tighter on 18x than the DMR is at 21 if I remember correctly.

Interesting on the naysayers. I’ve heard the same reports about variable glass quality in the DMRII, but never had any that bad. I had a Burris XTRII 4-20x50 H59 that was probably the worst glass I’ve ever owned, and even that was completely usable from a pure function standpoint. It (the glass AND the H59 :ROFLMAO:) annoyed me so I sold it, but maybe I’ve just been lucky that all my scopes have had very functional glass in them regardless of brand or price point. The DMRII Pro I had was definitely the best of the bunch, though. I regret selling that one!

But if you’ve got the coin for an NF, I’d do the same thing if I were in your shoes!

Currently own 03 HDMR2 scopes. I have or had most all out there (NF, Leupold, S&B, Vortex, Athlon, etc). For the money and my eyes, the Bushnell's are hard to beat. No, they are not an ATACR, PM2, or MK whatever Leupold, but they are also not the reason I miss.
So I’ll save the money and buy more bullets. Once the Bushnell holds be back from winning, I’ll sell and put the ATACR back on. Hope this helps.

I agree with the last post in that the DMR2 will not hurt you in many ways, however, to me it's about the most value for your money.

Why wouldn't want great glass, tracking and nice features for equal or less money?

It's like I've heard @lowlight say before, these scopes are overpriced for what you get.

Maybe back in 2013, they were great but the DMR line hasn't kept up with the competition, mostly in the glass dept.

The DMR2 is more of an $800-900 range scope (New) to me, and even then my PST2 beats it all day long in most categories.

So I'd recommend the Bushnell Forge deploy mil over this anyday.

I'm not a Bushnell hater, actually quite the opposite but facts are stubborn things that we can not avoid.

Looking into barreling up a Tikka T3 300WM into something else....7 SAUM has caught my eye. Mostly a 1000-1500 yd fun gun to punch steel and shoot Coyotes and prairie dogs with. Will see some hunting and ELRish type gong work at a mile or whatever I can get out to on the BLM.

I want to buy my optic first to get the big cost out of the way. The Cameraland Bushnell DMRII G3 3.5-21 / Kestrel deal is really catching my eye as I need a newer model Kestrel anyway. Will I regret that scope trying to shoot that far? My last two scopes were Gen2 Razors but sold them off to fund other ventures.

GAP has the XRSII / Kestrel deal for $1700 but thats a $650 upgrade from the DMRII.

What say the Hide?

I can't comment on this particular scope as I don't have one & haven't used one. I can comment on Bushnell's current customer service, or more specific there lack of any sort of decent customer service.

I have owned many Bushnell scopes over the years with good customer service in years past, I can't say that any longer. (it just plain sucks now, no other way to put it)

I have had nothing but problems with Bushnell's current (wiggle/weasel out of anything) customer service policy. They promise return phone calls & nothing, they promise return E-Mails & nothing. Should have been a simple problem for them to make right but Bushnell's customer service personal just plain lies, makes up excuses, makes promises they don't follow up on, & just won't handle current scope issues.

Even 3rd world cheap scope companies handle their customer service issues better than Bushnell does. Never again, no more Bushnell scopes for me, NEVER again.

That's where I have had much success, Bushnell CS has always been top notch for me.
