What a piece of shit.

the laser isn't aligned correctly, so if you spin it, you'll see it's not centered. I had high hopes for it... at 100 yards, this thing would probably even get me on paper. I'm gonna put it on a drill tonight, and aim at something 50 yards away and see if I can make a laser show with it.

I got it at amazon, I'm gonna see if I can return it.

I figured I try for 25 bucks. I don't wanna spend 150 bucks for the laserlyte. I guess I'll look through the bore and do it that way.

here is the laser spread at like 20 feet

Don't buy this crap!!!!

Amazon has great return policies.

Just pull your bolt, look down the bore and do it the old fashioned way. With a little practice you can get on paper at 200 yards, 100 is no biggie and 50 is REALLY easy. Bore sight, shoot at 50, make the correction needed and go to 100. You should be able to zero with 3 shots max and no need for that fancy laser thingy!

yeah, i was hoping for an easy way out, plus for my pistols and the AR. I'll just do it old school when my rings come.

+1 on eyeballing through the bore, then starting at 50 yards or so. Just remember 1/4 MOA is 1/8" at 50 yards, so it may take some significant knob turns to dial it in.

So for 50y, do I have to look at a object 50 yards away, or any distance?

Can I do like 10 yards and go couple clicks down to compensate drop at 50y?

Re: Bushnell laser boresighter

You just look down the bore at the target at about 100 yards on sandbags and adjust the scope to center up on the target, shoot your first shot, rebag your rifle at center of target and then adjust to POI and you are done! ONE SHOT zero.........

So I adjust the bullet drop at range zero.

With lasers I usually would look at so,something around 10 25 yards and do few clicks down depending on bullet drop

You're way over thinking it, just look down the bore at any range and get the scope close, you'll be within a foot or so. Shoot one round, twist some knobs and shoot again, use the mil knobs and the mil reticle each time to measure the amount of change needed. By the 3rd shot you'd better be damn close to sighted in at 100 or we're taking away your fancy new scope.

I can zero with bullets at 25 meters no problem, and then adjust it to hit 300 meters with the 25m zero.

in the military I have never ever done a bore zero.

in DM school, we used lasers and then went to the range and zeroed with the ACOGs

I regularly shoot expert. usually 38-39

this has nothing to do with that kind of zeroing

I get pretty anal. I pretty want that 1st shot to be dead center. that's the problem

I just bore sighted at something 30 yards away.

we'll see how it goes...

Re: Bushnell laser boresighter

Hi:
I am new to the site. Coincidentally I also bought the Bushnell Boresighter and found it was off center. Using the included Allen wrench I adjusted the laser center, (4 centering screws on laser cap) until it was steady when projected on a wall about 10 ft away. Here is how. I drilled a hole through a 2 inch thick wood block that the thin bore end of the sighter just fit tight. I taped a piece of paper on the wall and put the wood block into a vice so the laser dot was projected onto the paper. Rotating the sighter until the dot reached its highest point I marked a line on the paper. I then rotated to the lowest (180 degrees) and marked another line. Half way between the two lines is dead center. I loosened the centering screw that was on the side in the direction I needed to move the dot and then tightened the opposite screw. Making small adjustments to all four screws I was able to get the dot centered. While my first sighting in shots weren't perfect they were much closer than when I bore sighted the old way. BTW I am shooting a 223 Savage 10XP with a 4-12X scope. Hope this helps.

Re: Bushnell laser boresighter

mine doesn't have centering screws. how do you turn your laser on. twist the head of it, or is there a button on top of it?

I did the bore sighting. I found something about 50 yards away and just centered it up. I should be good I think

Re: Bushnell laser boresighter

Sorry for the delay in responding. I am just back from a trip.

My boresighter twists to turn on and came with the Allen wrench to adjust the center.
