Cadex Defence, flaunt it if you've got it!

So I’m having a 300 PRC built from Josh at PVA, I’m using the Cadex field comp chassis, TL3 action and a spuhr 4902 mount (30MOA) with an ATACR on top.
I currently have a Tac A1 in a Cadex field Tac chassis (built in top rail) also has an ATACR with a spuhr 4602 (20 MOA)
Curious if I’ll have clearance issues with the new rifle since there is no existing top rail with the competition chassis vs the field Tac? Anyone have experience with this?
With the competition series of chassis most scopes will fit with a 1.25 height scope mount with very little clearance to spare, to the point of it could be hard to get a scope cap on. With the extra built in MOA on the mounts you will likely need to go to a little higher mount. If you are needing a higher mount you should check out our Unitized mounts, they are rock solid and a reasonable price.

cheers,
Ryan

It will depend on the height of the picatinny rail on the TL3 action. I originally put the spuhr 4902 (pictured) on my Cadex light competition chassis and the Ultimatum Deadline Long Action (20MOA rail) in 300 PRC with a ATACR 5-25x56 and it cleared. There is about 1/8" clearance which is more room than it looks in the picture due to the angle.

Ended going with a 4808 (44.4MOA) for 64.4MOA total scope angle and still have about 7MOA travel below zero with 120MOA of elevation available on the ATACR. I might have gotten away with a 4802 which is 6mm lower but it would have been real close.

Ok stupid question maybe I’m missing something. I just bought a new cleaning rod and patch guide for my NEW 300 PRC, but to do a proper break in cleaning every 5 as Patriot Valley arms suggested. Do I need to remove the cheek piece each time? Or does someone have another trick? Obviously I don’t have the folding chassis (poor oversight)

Yes. Simple. One screw / knob, to take it off. Takes about 10 seconds or less.

Have you posted a picture yet? Interested to see how it turned out. ?

That's a pretty badass painting. Reminds me of the PNW coast.

Congrats... Good looking 50... 👍🏼 I think the white looks good, have Cadex Lite Strike chassis coming soon from Euro, ordered the sniper grey.
You're going to love it. Sniper grey is definitely their best color! Jake's cheytac is one of the best looking rifles besides his flectarn AI! He's got all the looker's! 😂

That’s what Josh at EO said, wasn’t sold on it till I dug around a little. That one sure looks good...
Thanks for throwing that out there👍🏼
Going w/ TL3, TT Diamond, APA Lil B’, Shilen 26” SSM in 6.5 CM and 26” 6mm Dasher SSM.

Quick potato pic for now:

Problem: Cadex sent 8-40 bolts for the 20moa base. Savage short actions use 6-48. At least I know the base is right because the bolts they sent won't even thread through the base itself. Not happy about this but eh, everything else fits fine. Gonna have to wait for the new bolts I ordered on midway to show up before I can zero it in.

I’ll be running the Cadex Lite Strike Chassis in Sniper Grey, Bighorn TL3, TT Diamond pro curved, 2 Shilen SSM 26” bbl in 6mm Dasher and 6.5CM, APA Lil Bastards brakes. Been told the TL3 with medium tang will drop in with no issues. I may buy another TL3, TT Diamond and a MPA Matrix and drop the 6mm dasher in it. Two purposely built guns, or just do bbl swaps if I want to shoot a different caliber. Will see how it goes time wise swapping out..

Mine finished in 6mm Dasher.
The fit and finish of the Cadex Defense Chassis is something to see.

How does the 300prc perform? Very keen on one have you been able to stretch it's legs at all??? That set-up is straight porn 💦

I’ve only been able to get out a few times with it. Started at 700 yards with the 12”x 20”, 9”x 9” & 4”x 4” plates. Once I got centered the 9”x 9” was effortless and went 2 for 3 on the 4”x 4”.
Form there I got a little aggressive and went straight to 2176 yards. Had it absolutely surrounded but no hits on the 20”x 24” plate. Splash high, low, left & right including one through the leg on my stand. A little wind with a 3 1/2 second flight time can wreak havoc on your shot. 😖
Going to go back to 1200 yards then a mile before I give the 2167 yards a shot again.
I absolutely love the setup everything about it scream quality.

Still looks like very good groupings at 700 yard and i have seen videos of individuals pushing these rounds out to 2000 yards and beyond with very good success check out this video from a ELR couple in Western Australia

I watch most of Mark & Sam‘s videos. It’s pretty impressive what they can with a large assortment of calibers. They were the ones that inspired me to keep reaching out further and further. My original goal two years ago was to shoot 1000 yards with the 6.5 Creedmoor which I was able to get out to 1200 yard. After that last year I went 3 for 3 at a mile with the 338 lapua. Now it’s see how far I can keep pushing it. 😃👍

Does the TL3 and/or Origin work with the top rail in the Lite Strike Chassis? What screws did you get?

There is some mods that are needed to make the top rail line up, just small relief areas. The screws were 8-40, everything plugs and plays nice with the TL3 action. The action fits perfect with the medium tang, the back screw on the top rail, nearest to bolt does not line up. The two fronts do, you have to shim the top rail about .040”, if not your rail will bend. The top rail is very rigid, will not move at all when shimmer correctly..

A guy on a Cadex Facebook posted this. I personally want something like this for my Shadow 40. Not because I can use it as a carry handle but to stiffen where the forend and chassis mate. I imagine that there’s a tiny bit of flex there because I do not believe it’s ridged enough. I could be wrong and that’s fine. My concern is when you use a pic mounted Charlie tarac and any amount of flex will cause a POI shift with your Charlie’s zero.

I hope that guy starts selling those! I'll get one for the shadow and the tremor. The tremor especially is not fun to carry around with the new 40" barrel!
If he is selling, sign me up for one also. I need it for my Tremor, albeit mine only has a 32" barrel... :)
It be nicer if it could be manufactured in similar aluminum material as the Cadex Tremor chassis.
It would kind of bug me to have the carrier made out of composite material, since I have no idea what "alumide" feels like to the touch...
And if it gives, it will be 35/40lbs of combined weight landing on the scope.
