When trying to access SnipersHide via firefox I get an error message from Parallels H-sphere: I've cleaned all cookies, same problem, so I am at a loss. Reached SH OK from MS Explorer (yuck) and logged in.

    Error: Wrong Host

The requested host is not found. This may happen due to the following reasons:

I get the same results, also with firefox.

    Me also & I have Foxfire .
Same results & all I get for 2 days is Error Page / Site Domain does not exist .
Have to back my way in the site threw PM notifications to log-in & make my way here to Post this .

I finally got back in via Firefox. I did four things: Cleared my cookies, closed Firefox and emptied history, and killed my SH bookmark. Googled Sniper'shide and came in on the main page, and re-booked marked it.

Ya this is pretty strange . It is only the forum page that is not connectable .
If I go to SH main page, Then hit 'Forum', it still reverts to the ( Error Page/domain does not exist ) .

If I go-in threw my home PC PM-notifications . Then log-in . Then go into my Profile . I can get into all the Threads & Topic w/being logged-in .
But still when I hit ' Forum ' it does Not Exist . Even though I am logged-in & Post to topic .

This is really some strange Glitch with SHforum page direct connection . Everything I do has to done ' Without ' the SH main Forum page ,
& After I Post this Reply to this thread . Site will not acknowledge my Reply was Posted . I have to back my way back to separate/individual Threads & visually see if is GTG & done .

    Hello everyone,

    I just posted a reply here - http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/bear-pit/195265-forum-problem.html

But in short - we had a security patch that "made 1" of the SH servers - render the Parallel's Error Page stating "Wrong Host". Although we thought we had this fixed late last night.

Is anyone still getting this today?

    -Michael

I'm in FF 21.0, OSX 10.6.8 and the site doesn't seem to be parsing and passing CSS at the two hierarchical levels above thread, subforum, and forum list. It also isn't rendering correctly in the Chat/Talk, either.

    Hello Veer_G,

"Can't reach SH via Firefox" ( because you get some Error Page ) - is a bit different than "it doesn't look right" in Firefox 21.0 ( which is likely due to Firefox being ahead of the vBulletin update version Frank is on ).

Have you tried the site in Safari? Chrome? etc... does it only looks like the CSS is wrong in Firefox?

I get this page everytime I try to go to this Website since last night . I can not go to the Forum Page . & If I go to main page it is just a dead end does not allow me to go into the forum page from link .
The only time I got close to going to the Forum Page was when I went strait to the Registration Page . & ( 1 time this worked ) acted like I was registering when I logged-in . & I did get an automatic kick to the Forum page . BUT after that I could not go anywhere & was dead in the water . & I had to go back in threw my home-PC email notifications - to my Profile - then to my resent posts - then to here & Post .

This Site is the only thing that I am having trouble with & ( My PC is smooth & fast & Clean ) . everywhere else I navigate is a strait-shot there but this site is still kicking my ass .

Wild... the error that was causing the "Wrong Host" error was only on 1 of the servers... and the error was corrected 20+ hours ago.

Can you try flushing your browser cache?

I grok the difference between the two. I merely made mention of it because I had access to someone who might be able to diagnose and repair. Let me go check other pages and see if it persists.

I'm using IE and when I click on the forum tab I keep getting an error.

    Parallels® H-Sphere

    Error: Wrong Host

The requested host is not found. This may happen due to the following reasons:
    •Domain does not exist.
•Domain is not yet propagated. You may try the IP address or instant domain alias instead of the domain name.
•You have typed the address incorrectly, like GeoVario LLC - Web Access instead of Example Domain

I cleared all cookies, browsing history and deleted SH from the favorites. I'm not having much luck, still can't get the forum tab to work.

This is day 3 for me .
Now I have to use ' InternetExplorer ' Via/through Google to get the Page to come-up . SH Servers is not accepting if I go through Foxfire .

And only here . Foxfire is Good To Go anywhere else I want to roam in world wide internet but not here .
    .

I like FoxFire . Don't understand why the SH all of the sudden rejects it , It keeps everything cleaner & smoother plus I got ( Collusion ) running threw it .

Did you clear your cache like guys have said with the OS / Safari stuff... the issue was fixed as Michael said 48 hours ago, it hiccuped on Sat Night.

Clear the browser out, all the history, cache, etc.

can you type the address in directly ?

    forum.snipershide.com ?

I finally got SH.com to take it . so far it seem GTG .
I did not clearout history or anything, I had to uninstall & Dump it & re-install FireFox a ' couple times ' . & now the SH-server picks-up the address request for the Forum Page . & gives it when I am logged-in to the Site .
& that was really the weird thing I did not understand . Was why if I ' went threw FireFox ' , came-in and logged-in . the SH-servers still would not give the Forum Page when requested ? . . You would think logically that when I backed my way into the site threw PC PM's & logged-in it would right itself & the communication between the two would be comparable . Not so & that gave not any positive results .
    .
    add:
OHHhhh what took me longest time for me was from ' YAHOO ' . Those pricks were waiting in the dark as default or something with being long forgotten by me since the day I installed FireFox, long time ago . The very second I uninstalled FireFox they just took over & imbedded themselves & I had to hunt & track things down one by one to get rid of them .

I posted about this a few days ago and then I was able to resolve the problem by emptying my cache. However, it has happened again a few times since then and I have to go back and empty the cache again. It only happens when I go to snipershide and it seems like the cache fills back up again whenever i get on this site. Go to that orange firefox button and choose options, then go into "advanced"...then choose "network" and clear cache. That has fixed it for me whenever it happens.

Personally I've been an avid user of all things Mozilla and Firefox for many years... however... their somewhat recent trend of - toss our new major functionality as quickly as possible has been a problem for me.

It's not all that uncommon now - that I have to switch to Chrome, or (gasp!) I.E. for many websites that I frequent - typically because the menus don't work properly in Firefox.

Specific to this Forum - the Forum software release is at this moment from April 2013. At this moment Firefox 21.0 the current "production release" of Firefox was released in May 2013. So it wouldn't be all that surprising to me if Firefox ( which is newer than - and supposed to have new major functionality ) does somewhat "odd" things on this Forum.

Now in the "upgrade game"... the Forum people will have started to test Firefox 21.0 as of last month; and will likely release patches to fix whatever problems are present with this Forum and Firefox 21.0 - and then it will all work properly. Of course... Firefox 22.0 is due out on 6/25/13! So... roll the dice.

Maybe the Firefox guys will fix the problem - as SH is running one of the most popular Forum software's in existence today.

I'm posting this for two reason, 1) to ask the question and 2) to see if will post. I'm using Firefox. Last night I tried to post in Bolt-action rifles. I got a message saying my post needed to be reviewed by a moderator before posting. It still hasn't posted. Is this part of the patch problem?

    Thanks,

    Jerry

Regarding the 'Firefox', I am not thinking that my 'issues' are the same and/or related to what the current discussion is. Or, I could be totally wrong. That has only happened once before. ;P

Yeah, I do run Firefox, though what is happening here is this:
The "Chatbox" freezes itself out a number of times a day. Sometimes within minutes of re-opening in another tab, and sometimes after some hours of doing the same. Then it simply sits stagnant until I re-open in another tab. No amount of refreshing or anything helps. Why, is beyond me, and is simply a pain-in-the-ass.

Another is the thread 'user functions' or whatever they're called.
First, the "view first unread" button randomly appears in random threads. Whether I've been there before or not is irrelevant.
Second, the same "view first unread" button, when clicked, takes me to various random posts in the thread. 50% of the time, it is onto a post a dozen or so previous to what I last saw, then 50% of the time it is onto a post a dozen or so later than what I saw/read last. The remainding 50% of the time it takes me to the last post. (You do the math.... HA)

These are all MINOR issues, and I realize that. I have tried previous to speak of the shoutbox issue, and obviously things got lost in translation. I'm not implying that this is a crisis in any way, just trying to open a dialogue with anyone to whom knows of what I speak. If there's something that I have to 'click' or 'unclick', or a box that needs to be 'checked' or 'unchecked', then please sing out.

Bugs and twerks are expected in change,,,,, and I'm sure there are some who're tired of them. So are some of us, but hey..... we're still here trying, right?
