Cashless society is in the works. Make sure you are flush with items that have real value and can be used for barter. Get as self sufficient as you can and don't leave your money in a savings/checking account where you cannot get it once there is a run on banks. My credit card number was stolen last month and I was using only cash while without it for a week waiting on the new one to arrive. It has happened in the past, but they overnighted me a new card. Said they couldn't overnight it this time because RONA.
Chinese don’t even use plastic anymore. Mobile phone wallets have been the norm for at least 5 years now.
The problem with cashless is what happened in Greece a few years back. They froze accounts and drained 401ks to spread the wealth. It is straight up social conditioning. The future is cashless not for convenience but for control.
It’s pretty real at the retail level, my associate is an accountant for a grocery store chain on the west coast and they just bought all my change for 1.10 paper for 1.00 coin just to be able to continue business. Sure beats wrapping and taking to the bank.
The government wants a cashless society so there will be no more side jobs for anyone, ever have a plumber come over after hours for cash? It’s about half the price vs when he is in the company truck, get your lawn mowed by a neighborhood kid for $20 bucks, be sure to add taxes to that when you Venmo him some money. I call bullshit too. Same shit here at a local gas station, but nowhere else. Could be a logistics issue with whatever bank the business use, or the money transport company they use.

Have a couple retail businesses that my wife runs, 100% card based. Pay approx 3% fees for the pleasure. They’re not making the money there though, it’s selling the data to experian who then target advertising at the consumer. Don’t meet the threshold for gross spend or shop at the right stores and the consumer doesn’t see the invitation to come in based on the demographic the business appeals to.
Have a local hardware that I like to go to. They’ve stopped taking cash or checks due to covid. Nothing to do with a coin shortage, just the whole scamdemic. What’s weird is that they still take my whatever I’m buying to scan it and then bag it. I’ve pointed out they irony to the checkers several times and they’re jus like whatever.
Lastly, totally agree with the others who say it’s about control on a macro scale to do cards only. One step deeper is that it’s about debasing currency all together. A lot easier to grant more credit than it is to print more money. Scary times ahead.

Nope, and the idea that there's some kinda "coin shortage" is ludicrous. I've gotten three -- three -- 1-cent coins in a handful of change that dated to the 1890s and every time I find a pre-1945 coin it goes into my opposite pocket and later dropped into a jar since I like to hold onto them for whatever reason. Distribution problems, yeah, I can figure that, but when you have coinage that's over 100 years old still circulating? Lol "coin shortage", indeed...
A private business can set whatever form of payment they desire. If they want a customer to pay with fresh eggs and gunpowder, that is their choice . If you don’t like it, find someone else to trade with. Legal tender only means it is backed by the state, not they have to take it.

Besides eliminating tax avoidance, a cashless system allows negative interest rates, which are negated by cash savings. It's kind of a long thing to explain here,but you can easily google up the advantage of negative interest to the central bankers. Not a good thing for us.

There have actually been several attempts here in the US in the last two years to "force" cashless payment. NY City barely turned down a resolution to allow "ONLY" plastic for all transactions. Couple of cities on the Left Coast tried that too and were shot down. The proffered resolution missed in NYC because there was too much resistance from the areas of high undocumented immigrant residents who "prefer" to pay cash. No, actually all the rich denizens of that urban hellhole are paying these illegals under the table in cash. But yeah the gov's tracking everything and has been for years. I don't have or need tin foil. My eyes were opened pretty wide during a job interview a the Federal Reserve. I've actually lost a debit/bank card from a company that warned me about gun purchases. Closed the account and moved all my business from them and told everyone I knew out there at the time about it. It is what it is and is coming, same as the marxist/socialist/communist crap happening before our eyes and there's not a damn thing we can do about it....just marking time until whatever happens next

Its a convenient means of transaction. Fantastic insurance when travelling. Have a motor blow on your bike you have the means at hand to rent a UHaul box truck and get yourself home from PA to MA as I had to do.
At the onset the only conspiracy would be that they allowed consumers to purchase more than they would if they only had cash and higher interest rates could be charged - in other words CAPITALISM!
Its only recently that card companies have determined they will use their business in a manner counter to their intended purpose - CAPITALISM - in order to promote SJW causes.
I dont think this was entirely an internal corporate decision - in some measure it was, as the goals of the 1% align pretty much with those interested in crony capitalism. The Deep State, justice department and consumer financial protection bureau, especially the latter - during the last administration expressed what their goals are and what they expect from the card issuers - card issuers responded.
Next thing you know McMillan gets their long term bank association cancelled and peeps find some gun purchase attempts denied.
Remember one manufacturer being totally screwed because he sent product to customers than the payments were pulled back it was on him to try and recoup his losses through each individual customer hoping the customer would be sympathetic to the plight of the manufacturer.

They could easily get their taxes if they make the motherfuckers that don’t pay any actually have to give something. You know like only 50% of the country works and frankly we are tired of being taxed to death. How about they figure shit out instead of arbitrarily raising taxes. Nobody gets to go to their employer and say, hey my bills have gone up so I need more money. They have to figure out how to make it work. Everytime the Feds or someone need more money they raise taxes and the little man is the one that always pays the prices. Companies don’t care because they’ll either get some kind of tax relief, take benefits away or lower pay or some combination of the 3 to make up the difference. Same goes for people selling shit. Anyone that believes product prices are not adjusted based on taxes or extra costs associated with said product is an idiot. Trust me, the gov can do whatever they want, but big companies will always get their money. The little guy or the individual is always the ones that pay the price. Everyone else gets their money.
I realize some of that other 50% is kids or people that can’t work but you get what I mean. I’d like to know how many able people are not working...

That is a completely different story. It is not unique to the credit card companies. Banks, retailers, etc are all guilty of adopting the SJW agenda. If you let that guide your life entirely, you soon will have nowhere to shop.
The reality is when dealing with retailers, your wallet does the talking. That is part of Capitalism. You shop where YOU choose.
As I said previously, the insidious part of credit cards is their easy granting of large credit lines to people that can afford it. People being what they are and wanting to keep up appearances fall for it. You then have the debt mess we have today.
I remember growing up at a time where you conducted MOST of your purchasing in the town you lived. Most places had in-store credit accounts and they kept you honest. You paid your monthly amount at the store. They were careful how much credit they extended. In many respects it was a better time.
I have no problem using credit cards to conduct my transactions. I pay them off every month and have no fees or interest and the ultimate in convenience.

When we had the hurricane a couple years ago, some folks needed firewood to cook their food.
Fortunately WE had power, we are on the same grid as the high school which housed the cops and firefighters, but otherwise they were screwed.

Hate to disagree but being that half my relatives live there and this redistribution has never been mentioned, I question that highly.
They froze accounts due to the Germans requiring repayment against the loans which they defaulted on due to its oppressive impact to the economy. If you lived there and had anything on the ball, you had cash, if not...oh well. Most Greeks hoard cash..including myself. That is why I am a big advocate of keeping cash on hand in large amounts for just this type of emergency

It says that, but there is no law that states they must take said money. Except in a few states. The article i read about it also there is a law in congress to require businesses to take cash. Just google it.
