I did and all it showed me was my ignorance of how the 700 works, so I did some research. I do not have a 700 currently to see it first hand so i had to watch some animations.

Best I can tell, is that when the bolt is closed hard and fast on a light trigger the sear will bump down allowing the cocking mechanism to to move forward and having a dead rifle with a loaded round. Do I understand that correctly?

If so, then a two stage trigger should absorb that downward force of the sear in the first stage on a normal action but can be adjusted forward and back tohelp with this.

I think it is something that I would easily understand if I had it in my hand.

Ok, i was thinking the firing pin would drop before you could get the bolt close enough to cause that but i may still be thinking incorrectly about the way the two parts interface.

This is the animation I watched and now that you have enlightened me I can kind of see it at about the 3 minute mark it looks like it pushed back on the cocking piece a little.

Initially, we were going to get some actions on the shelf before taking orders but because many of you have requested pre-ordering, we’re now considering this. I have 3x Archimedes and really like them-- super smooth and fast actions. The only real negative to them IMO is you can easily launch some of the small parts when disassembling the bolt if you aren't careful, and you need a couple of tools to disassemble and reassemble the bolt-- so it's not quick and easy to swap bolt heads like on the Nucleus (Not an issue for me as I don't swap bolt heads on my Archimedes, but can see it being a pain if you were the type to have a single action and multiple barrels that required different bolt heads and wanted to swap between them at the range.)

Looks like on the new action the bias spring for the pivoting bolt handle is separate from the firing pin spring (unlike the Archimedes where the firing pin spring also serves as the spring for the pivoting bolt handle) so the firing pin shroud and firing pin can easily be removed as an assembly without tools to quickly and easily swap the bolt head like a Nucleus should you desire.

The adjustable trigger hangar is a nice touch and saves you from having to buy extra cocking pieces to tune your particular trigger.

Being able to swap from the pivoting bolt handle to a standard camming bolt handle is unexpected and a really cool idea that will appeal to people who for some reason don't like the pivoting bolt handle or run super light triggers that don't play nice with the pivoting bolt handle.

I'll also echo what others have said, the overall styling of the action looks great.

Looking forward to the video showing the details of the new action.

Now, what new caliber do I need to build another rifle in?

I hope that I can buy a 16 pound spring for the CDG like I do for my Nukes should I chose to run it in the conventional manner. I hate that damn 23 pound spring the Nukes come with. It takes a sweet action a degrades it IMO. A $10 spring swap and it’s a completely different animal, just like my original Nuke. The 19 on the Archimedes is doable since the extraction is separate from the cocking.

@bohem and Patriot Valley Arms is my go to for all of your pre-fit barrel needs. I have one of his OBW 223 pre-fit in my Archimedes and is a laser with Fed. 77 SMK factory ammo.

I suspect it is unlikely that Ted will offer one as purchased from him, but it will be easy enough to replace the factory knob with anything you want to after the fact. It’s a simple threaded knob.

PVA is already working on those prefits. They posted an Instagram photo of a barrel tenon for it.

We made some already for prototypes and I shot one of the early action prototypes. If SN #2 is any indicator this is gonna be a walk off home run for ARC. I was bugging Ted yesterday to get me a beta prototype and also finalize the tenon print so we can get ahead with some RTS prefits so that folks can have pipes waiting for the action to arrive. I think it's got some really fantastic features.

ATX chassis has a removable rear mag stop that'd work excellent with this action and aics mags.

"An optional forward hard stop...." is what I was referencing. This is a modification of some sort.

I wonder how a hawkins or similar bottom metal would work, given a "hard stop" would be necessary to keep the bolt from hitting the mag.

Something else to keep in mind is that the ARC aics mags have shortened feed lips. So if it’s just the forward tips of the AICS feed lips that hit, ARC mags might not hit at all.

I just want to chime in on the introductory price. All the configurations of actions will be able to be purchased while the introductory price is in effect. Just know that the longs and left hand actions will take a little longer to get, so just be patient.
