I know Ted mentioned the idea of a group buy being a “pay in full” group buy. Will the pre-sale actions purchased through the ARC site be “pay in full” as well or will we be able to pay XX amount as a deposit to get the process started and pay the remainder once finished?

Was thinking of picking up a Archimedes but now rethinking to get this. Planning on running a 223 and a 6 creed barrel. Already have a pile of AI mags and dont really want to stock back up to AIAW mags. Would you recommend the Arch over the Coup then as the Coup is primerily designed to feed from AIAW?
Go with the Arch ... I bet you there will be a lot of guys offloading their for a good price, chasing the new.

But most likely I’ll just keep it as a 223 trainer and still buy the CDG
if i remember correctly the Arch is being discontinued as this is a new and improved version.
I have the same problem unfortunately lol. I will probably give ARC a call once this cools off and see what they suggest. A few AIAW mags would offset the cost difference between the Arch and Coup

I remember how the Hancock rifles went and those didn't roll out the way Josh and company wanted, but last year they did offer nucleus 2.0 barreled actions and those sold like hotcakes. I'm moreso talking about something like that vs a full rifle.

My patriot valley barrels hammer. I know they have had issues in the past. I don’t know the details but from what I gathered seemed like growing pains of a small company but who knows.

I read all about lead time issues and QC back in the day, but I have heard nothing but good things about them especially since they started offering the Osprey Barrels. The 6GT group I'm in, almost everyone i speak to on there with one of their barrels from the last 18 months or so loves them.
That and so much more. There are so many good options out there they aren't worth the gamble for me. Interesting you've only been on since Wednesday and almost all of your posts have been about PVA...
I’ve bought 5 PVA barrels in the last 5 years and everyone of them is a hammer. The last 2 were delivered before the end of the quoted time frame. There are a lot of good options yes. But not many that will outshoot a PVA barrel for the same money.

I trust ARC and I trust other smiths, but PVA has lost any possible trust based on their actions and deceptions in the past. I know others are happy with them and I'm glad they didn't get screwed over. Hope they never do.

Are there any plans of discontinuing any of your other actions? It looks like you have four actions that are aimed at the same tactical rifle market.
Will complete rifle packages be available? If so at what price point? Last week a friend of mine asked me what bolt action he should get and mentioned eventually getting a chassis. I doubt he'll spend the coin on a $4k+ full on custom build, but something near the Nucleus Gen2 rifle price point just may land you guys a sale.
The Nucleus gen2 rifle is a full custom build and by the time her puts a scope on it, it’ll be over 4 grand.
The base price listed for the Nucleus G2 is $2499. Base price is what matters here. Accessories come later. Cost isn't the biggest concern. He only wants a chassis'd bolt action for hunting and target shooting. I just want to see what all the sub $3K options are for a complete rifle minus the accessories.
It sure seems this action offers a whole lot for the money. If there's time, I'd appreciate it if Ted could explain how I could get a Hawkins Oberndorf bottom metal to work with this? I'm looking to build a pure hunting rifle in .264WM and this sure ticks a lot of the boxes for that task. Just don't want a DBM for that application. Have to say it is very refreshing to have the designer openly discussing his product here and being incredibly helpful and patient with some of the whiners. You're not going to buy an action because of the name? GTFO. A double stack LA mag is long overdue.
An AW style double stack 223 mag that lets you load heavies really long would be great too, but not sure if they would ever sell enough to justify the development and tooling costs for such a magazine.
My 223AI Archimedes build gets shot more than any of my other rifles, love that thing. AW double stack mags that I could snap rounds into like an AR mag would make it even better!

You can cut a hole in the bottom of an aw mag that allows the follower spring through and attach an a419 mag extension. This is rumor to work from the dude at just fn sendit podcast. I have not tested bit will soon.
The thing with AW mags is that they will run in any bottom metal/chassis that accepts AICS mags, but not every action is cut to use AW mags. It’s the action that makes the difference, not the chassis or bottom metal.

I’ve found AW mags hit/miss in function. Certain mags, certain actions, certain bottom metals…
I don’t doubt that. I honestly don’t swap out a lot of things other than barrels and an occasional stock or bottom metal. AW are picky in that they need the correct height in the action for solid bolt engagement. Actions built specifically to handle AW mags tend to do fine if the mag catch in the action/chassis is adjusted correctly.
I don’t claim to know all the interactions between possible combinations, I truly only know what I’ve experienced.

Looking forward to PVA doing up a barred action. I love my Joh Hancock rifle, yes it took a while to get delivery, but it was more than what was promised. I liked it enough to buy a Falkor barreled action that is another great shooter.
As for problems, IMO, PVA probably would have had an easier time getting out the John Hancock rifles if they had parts produced by other and if they were not here wading though a river of crybaby tears from impatient purchasers and responding to unnecessary/not constructive comments from keyboard commandos.
