The vast majority of lenses, cameras, riflescopes, spotting scopes, etc. have a standard filter thread at the front to allow the use of filters or lens hoods (sun shades). Filters come in a variety of fairly standard sizes (diameters) where the diameters from 40-some to 60 or so come every 3mm and then up to 85 or so are every 5mm. The thread pitch use in these sizes is standard and I have tried various filters on a wide variety of lenses and scopes without any issues over the decades. If you match the proper diameters, they should work. Of course, it's always possible that some riflescope maker uses a different filter thread pitch on purpose but that would be weird.
For matching the diameters, I take the diameter of the lens and add 6mm. So for my 56mm lenses, the filter I use is a 62mm. That is not a hard a fast rule. Sometimes it's 4mm or less.
