I am curious what the recoil difference would be between a 308 with 185's @ 2650 would be versus a 260 rem pushing ~140 gr bullets at 2750

both coming from a suppressed 17 lb rifle.

I keep hearing things from "its like shooting a 223" to "little to no recoil" and finally "not much difference."

I have shot a few rounds through some 6.5xxx guns but only a few rounds and from very different rifles, mostly during circumstances where comparing recoil was not possible.

17 lb rig the 260 shouldn't kick at all, can't compare exact weights but my 260 is 13lbs shooting 140's at 2800+ and feels like nothing.
My 308 is 10lbs shooting 168's at only 2500 and kicks a ton compared to the 260

I can't tell you an exact amount but I have 308win & 6.5 Creedmoor barrels for my DTA which weighs about 18 pounds. The 6.5 feels to have about 20-30% less recoil than my 308 win. That is just my perception though.

I really dont think there wold be much recoil from a 17lb 308, even shooting the 185s...the 260 will be less. Of course, everyone has a different perception of recoil.
