Hello,

I have perused this site for sometime and recently decided to join. I reside in South Florida so the long range shooting isn't like it is elsewhere but still enjoy shooting longer distances when time allows. I recently acquired this 220 Swift and know nothing about it. Looking for a ballpark value and any information this group could provide:

That is a World War II German Mauser that has been converted to a sporting rifle
The stock is specially designed to be shot prone with a sling
The style of rifle was very popular and known as a woodchuck rifle back in the 60s
Yours seems to be a very well-made example and would be quite valuable to a certain buyer

Probably, the only real resource for determining actual value of a type of firearm is the finished auctions of Gunbroker. Specifically need to look for Model 98 Mausers that have been customized. In the finished auction section, look only for actions that have received bids and specifically those that received bids and were actually sold. Its not hard and kind of a bit of fun.
